Definitely one of my favorite campsites on the South island. Very friendly and helpful staff, great view of Lake Wanaka. Paid 50 bucks for one person on a powered site for 2 days I believe. Facilities were always clean, warm shower cost was one dollar.
You can walk to Wanaka on a scenic track that starts at the end of the campsite. There is also a direct connection to the Sticky Forest MTB park which is one of the largest in the area. One downside is that there is no free Wifi, vouchers can be bought at the reception or online.
We were there just before New Year so the place was packed! We were accommodated for but missed out on a powered site. Ablution facilities were kept clean which was impressive considering the volume of people! Water and cooking facilities were easily available but $50 for two people seemed a bit too much for a non-powered site and located right on top of other campers.
We escaped to the Lake for a bit which was the best part!
We loved this place. The setting is great. Facilities are just what you need. And hosts were very welcoming. A gem of a campsite in a gem of a town
Chill vibes. $20 per person for unpowered site in peak of summer. 5 min drive into town.
Nice quite spot away from the hustle and bustle of Wanaka township especially in the busy season. We went through between Xmas and new year and it was crazy in the town. Campsite is lovely BUT you then still had to pay for hot water to have a shower $1 for 5 min thought that was a bit of an ask after paying $42 for 2 people at an unpowered site. A hot shower should be included. Port a loo was our closets toilet. Nice n clean.
Absolutely loved this place. It is a real campsite. In natural setting, large spots with Great Lake views. Good short walks for short stayers. Fantastic lake Wanaka experience. Lovely lady who did her best to give us a spot with a view. Ask for 99!! Simple, very good facilities. 1 dollar for a shower to help safe energy and water. Jump in the lake.
Great staff, and nice and secluded camp sites.
Facilities were ok, although hot water and WiFi are not free.
We had a great view of the lake, and we would stay here again.
Verrry windy, have to pay for the showers, not the best facilities, when we arrived, Someone had moved the campsite number we were in so we spent a while confused as to where we should be. We had 2 adults and a 2 and 3 year old, I think we paid $68 from memory for a powered site. Probably wouldn’t stay again.
Fantastic location. Very big site, we ended up with a site on an angle but there were lots of flat ones. Showers were lovely but there was a charge for hot showers. Didn’t use kitchen as got pizza delivered to the site.
Great campsite. Very friendly staff. Toilets and showers dated but clean. Views amazing. Very large site so can be far from utility blocks. We were lucky.
Camping with a exceptional view on the lake and the surrounding mountains.
The facilities are clean but could be a bit far depending on where your spot is (The compound is quite big)
Overall a nice and quiet experience.
What a great place to stay! Warm welcome, stunning views and
basic but superclean facilities. And free stargazing at night! Nice walk along the river Clutha to Albert Town (1h20). Highly recommended!
We arrived into Wanaka on a very hot late summer Friday night and all campsites were booked up, except this one. You can’t book here (or couldn’t when we visited), it works on a first-come first-served basis, and the i-Site told us to visit here on the off chance. We did and took the campsite’s last remaining plot, a non-powered site right at the bottom and close to the lake with unspoilt views. In places like this you should expect to pay higher prices, so it didn’t bother us, we were just delighted to be able to stay in such a beautiful place. We decided to stay an extra 2 nights and moved to a powered site, still with a stunning view. Facilities are fine, paid showers. Can get dusty in good weather, not a problem for us though. We hired bikes from the campsite (very basic) and cycled around the headland to the town (I think 6ish miles) which was fab. If you accept you might have to pay more, I would recommend here. I think it would be nicer than the other campsites closer to the town...
Superb campsite, pitches are cleverly positioned to maximise views of the lake. It felt very spacious and quiet. Glenn and Tracy are fabulous, very friendly & efficient team! Great location, highly recommend!:)
If you ignore the price and all other adding charges it's a quite nice campsite because of the amazing lake view. But that's the price you pay for. No grass on Campground and very dusty when dry weather. Kitchen is roomy but not equipped at all, and really no utensils at all ! You have to pay 1$ for shower, 5$ for Wifi. It's really overcharged! Would only recommend this campsite for the lake view nothing else.
We went to this camping ground following the reviews but we have found something that do not match at all with what we expect. Extremely expensive, $40 for two people with a small tent, no grass for tents. Facilities are very very basic, no free WiFi, $1 for 5 minute shower. This is not a place for a tent if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place.
Tay Dao Han
We paid $41 for two adults!
Decent campsite, though its a 1km gravel road to the entrance of the campsite due to road construction. Good space between campervans. Needs a short walk to toilet ($1/5mins of hot shower), and $3 each for washing and drying of clothes (laundry).
Campsite is sandy road. So cars that go past too quickly, you may get the dirt. Has a dumping ground on site too.
Paul and Paula
Spent 3 nights here in glorious sunshine and clear blue skies in mid Nov - Tracy and Glen were great when we needed them and the pitch for our Motor was perfect.Views to die for and a nice gentle breeze. 1 point deducted for the surroundings to the pitches which were quite dusty due to the location. A short walk to the lake for swimming and sun bathing and early evening drinks made for a perfect location for our trip
One of our favourite sites during our trip. We had such a great view of the lake, plus the guys who run it give great info about seeing the southern lights, etc. Wifi and facilities are good, it's a really quiet spot but slightly out of the way if you want to walk into the town.
We paid $41 for a powered campervan site for two here. Internet and showers are both $2 here in addition.
This site has a spectacular view over Lake Wanaka. The location otherwise isn't anything special - you're not close to shops or eateries. The facilities are a bit run-down and not particularly welcoming - I couldn't find a common area/lounge of any sort, which is unusual from what I've experienced. There are a lot more "permanent" or long-stay residents here than at the other places we stayed; people had some very fancy set-ups going on here! The path down to the bathrooms from the campsite where we stayed is a bit treacherous. It is not safe for flip flops/thongs and you definitely need to bring your flashlight. This could definitely stand to be re-graded for safety.
Most beautiful location we stayed at, right on the lake but the campsite facilities leave much to be desired. Very expensive campsite, with sub-par bathroom facilities. Seriously in need of a refresh and upgrade.
We stayed in a cabin. Beautiful view, lovely staff and fantastic bedding!
Great place, good facilities and near a nice small lakeside beach. Good biking/hiking in the area.
This place was very nice.
Spot - nice spot plenty of room.
Toilets/showers - not bad for a campsite.
Kitchen - didn't use.
Staff - very friendly.
Wifi - didn't use.
View - great views of the lake.
Also - the road coming in is gravel and pretty rough for a campervan.
Great site at the lake and close to the river. We had beautiful views at our powered site. Toilets and kitchens are ok.I don't like to pay separately for my shower of WiFi, if the costs os the campsite are already high.
This site is in a decent location and was the our only option close to Wanaka over the busy Christmas period otherwise there is no way we would have stomached the hefty fees. It's one of those sites where you're allotted a pitch which I am never keen on although they were a decent size. Most campers had enormous tents, caravans, boats etc so this was just as well. The staff were quite friendly and helpful initially, although when we enquired about a curfew after putting up with a large group of neighbours heavily involved in an 80s tribute night for long enough this issue was skirted by Glenn and we were made to feel bad for asking about it - the curfew was "10-10:30 going on midnight". The lakeside location is handy with walks and trails along the river and some good swimming spots and the facilities are good. A perfect site if you want a booze up with your mates but not somewhere if you want to enjoy the sites and sounds of the location.
We're a couple traveling from Australia over the Christmas period for 3 weeks. This was a lovely place with great views and just outside of Wanaka Town Centre (short drive). One of the nicest spots on the lake (short walk to the water front). Kitchen was a little bit crowded over this Christmas period. Toilets and showers were very clean.
Wonderful location, excellent facilities and well run. Only complaint...not the $1 for 5 minutes of shower but that the timer box is outside the shower cubicle and starts the moment you insert the money. Thus you have to undress, open the door, put in your money and quickly shower. If 5 minutes is not enough then repeat the process while wet. Other campgrounds had the box inside the shower cubicle which is much more convenient.
Campsite was situated a little further away from the town center so we had to make sure we had all our shopping done before going to the site. Owner was nice and has a very friendly dog called Luna who loves tummy rubs. Wanted to have a picnic by the lake but was too windy and cold so we went back to eat next to our campervan. Toilets are clean and nice but showers are $1/5 mins. Nice place to stay for a night.
Save up to 70% on campsite fees! Support conservation and experience the natural beauty of NZ. 78 Department of Conservation campsites, one convenient pass.
Awesome place, bit off the road (bumpy access road), but worth it. Nice, helpful people. Clean warm showers ($1, 5 minutes), clean toilets, kitchen, BBQs, bike rental. Beautiful powered, unpowered and tent sites. Ask for sites at "The Lookout" for a beautiful view at the lake. Also there is a hiking trail to Wanaka along the beach (7.1 km) starting at the campsite.
Great location. Average prices
Stayed 2 nights due to snow skiing at Cardrona, gave 9/10 as views are hindered by all the trees that make these sites feel like your own private spot, so it depends if you want a view or privacy - you can choose your own site (this may depend on how busy they are), clean facilities, free BBQ's, helpful staff who gave a discount for 2 night stay, great views down towards the lake, would stay here again - may just choose a location closer to the lake.
A little difficult to find at first - from Wanaka take Anderson Road, then right onto Aubrey Road and left onto Outlet Road, a little gravel road will lead to your location.
No complaints, clean hot shower, small kitchen, $1 powder soap for washing machine.
Nice place, friendly welcome, lovely walking. Would have preferred warmer toilet block and showers included in the price.
Great place. Friendly couple at the check in even after we arrived very late and without a booking.
Clean showers, fine outlook.
A very basic but clean site. A bit tricky to locate, but worth the time. We recommend the powered views from the terrace sites, but the track leading down to the facilities was quite dangerous - we recommend that they fix this urgently. Overall a handy spot close to Wanaka for only $30 for a couple.
Beautiful setting by the side of Wanaka, lots of room and gorgeous views. Staff were super helpful when we got lost :-) Part of the access road is unsealed - the motor home coped with no issue. The campsite backs on to Sticky Forest mountain bike park - next time we're definitely bringing the bikes!
Last kilometer of road is gravel and had a few potholes at the time but no trouble. $1 per 5min shower, low pressure but nice and hot. Basic modern kitchen facilities, $3 washer and $3 dryer. Nothing special, but no complaints either. Short drive to Wanaka itself, which is beautiful.
Really nice lakeside campsite with nice views. A little out of town, perhaps a disadvantage if you don't have wheels but otherwise an advantage. Pretty big tent/camper sites (some bigger than others, so look around before selecting one) - far bigger than at many other campgrounds. Nice, helpful people running the place. Super clean (I saw the staff down on hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor one morning). Highly recommended.
Dusty but a great park, would stay again.
My group of 14 people camped at Lake Outlet Holiday Park for 5 nights in February 2016 and loved our stay. The staff were incredibly accommodating, helping us with our cooking and transportation challenges. I wouldn't hesitate to take another large group there again!
Great location. Basic facilities. We had a nice stop there before heading to Te Anau.
Well if it wasn't for the dust, this camp site could get a 9. Dust, dust and dust everywhere. Beautiful views and great location too. Nice staff.
Awesome place. Great scenery. Wonderful people.
Excellent site: lovely views, good facilities and helpful check in staff.
What an incredible spot. Lovely staff, lovely views and really good facilities. I would definitely recommend Lake Outlet Holiday Park
This park is off the beaten track in a stunning location above the lake - magnificent views. The facilities are basic but OK.
Good view, and nice staff, providing track detail from holiday park to downtown. But the hot water needs to be paid outside the door when having shower.
Great campsite, very accommodating to our request to change the spot that they had booked for us. Great views over the lake and the mountains. Close to the lake, to relax at the beach. Good amenities. We stayed at a non powered site, on the new part of the campground. There is an outdoor cooking area, sheltered and a cooking building in the older part of the campsite. Very clean.
Friendly staff, well thought out and maintained facilities, pet friendly, close enough to Wanaka without being in town and easy access to the water from just about anywhere! The most impressive thing about this campground is that every site is numbered, meaning you get your own designated space and privacy. Glenn was so incredibly patient, helping us to find just the right spot for our hammocks, even at the end of a scorching day when the office was teaming with people. We stayed in the middle of the high season and couldn't fault the place :)
A lovely park right on the shore of the lake. Plenty of toilets and showers, clean and hot. Only slight problem was that the place was a bit of a dustbowl and on windy days it gets everywhere. Other than that, a great out of town location to stay.
Very nice place to stay. Clean toilets and showers. Friendly staff. No free wifi (that's the missing point to 10/10).
A park that will surprise. This park is just out of the main shopping centre of Lake Wanaka, but worth it.
The staff are happy friendly and caring. Gave us extra blankets at no cost as we had a smashed back window covered with waxed cardboard.
The park had great views of snow capped mountains and Lake Wanaka. Enjoyable walking track around Lake Wanaka.
Facilities surprised me. Don't think I have been to a holiday park that has heat lamps in each toilet and shower. Wonderful on the cool Sept mornings!!
Clean colour coordinated cloth towels and dryers available.
BBQ facilities are modern and positioned with a view. Outdoor table setting covered with a canopy of plants.
My husband's words were 'bush camping with facilities' - maybe not quite bush camping but was quiet, secluded, on the lake, some great walking tracks and heaps of rocks to keep the kids busy skimming on the water. The best bit was the heat lights in the bathroom.
Beautiful view of the lake from the hilltop powered site. The owners were very friendly and allowed us to choose any site we wanted.Toilets are clean and the sites were spacious. Great place and will visit again.
Immaculate facilities and super friendly owners. Excellent value!
The location is a little far from the town, but this holiday park got awesome view, and the price is cheap.
you need to pay for the shower, however, I got bad luck which the quantity of water was very very small.....which made it the worst shower experience for me in 18 days new zealand trip. (its pretty cold already in May)
Bring the torch with you if you want to go to toilet during night, its very dark
Access savings worth hundreds of $$ on Top Ranked NZ Accommodation and Activities for just $1 per day.
Great area looking over the lake and mountains, really friendly staff, nice walk to the town, facilities good and clean.
I would give 12 points if I could! very very very nice hosts, great sites with trees and bushes around, even greater views at lake and mountains, clean facilities at all time, quiet place when we were there (before weekend). we only intended to stay 1 night but instead extended to 2 nights - we rented two mountainbikes (& helmets) at the campsite and made a trip to Wanaka. you may ride the normal bike paths but there are also several tracks for mountain bikes.
Crowded mid- March, kitchen busy with young people hanging around, no room in any fridge. Dusty spots with hard ground, facilities older but useable. Not easy to find as there are no signs by the main road.
Very large camping ground with very clean facilities (hot shower 1$ for 5 minutes). We had a powered site on the "Lookout" places and had an amazing view over the lake.
Nice bike tour possibilities, well equipped, cost $30 per person per day.
Nice place, it is also possible to rent bikes.
Had a wonderful view of the lake and mountains from our site on the upper terrace. Toilet facilities very good. Wonderful walks into Wanaka along the side of the lake or to Albertown along the side of the river. One of our favourites.
This is by far and a way the campsite to stop at in Wanaka. If you want a site near town this is the one. But hard to find but right on lake and the powered sites have the best views, just breath taking of mountains and lake.
The site has mountain bikes to rent, we had our own which meant we could bike the lake side walk to town, 7 km of view after view. You can also bike the other way down the river, also fun and a great walk too .
Quality site, good facilities. Big but not a holiday park, just friendly family place.
Would recommend to anyone
The best ever!
Gorgeous place, generous sized and very private sites, clean and new facilities. Will visit again :)
Great camping spot, we stayed the nights before on Albert Town campground and came here for the showers, which are coin operated nonetheless the typical holiday park price. Wished we stayed more nights since it is closer to Wanaka than Albert Town and it is worth the higher price. Sites are quite sheltered in trees and birds are ready to pick your food which is cool
Great location overlooking the lake and with easy access to go swimming in it and for walks and cycling. We spent Christmas here and enjoyed seeing all the local families spend their Christmas morning on the lake. Great facilities and friendly hosts. We stayed 3 nights and could easily have stayed longer
Ang and Scott Jermyn
This is in a great setting. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, albeit extremely busy. The campground was spacious, however there were only three toilets and coin operated ($1 for 5 minutes) showers for the men and ladies which caused long queues.
I would definitely return in the future.
Spacious camping ground! Great service and beautiful lake.
Great location overlooking the lake and river. Powered sites are flat and have great views. Easy access to bike and walking tracks.
Very lovely place with soo friendly managers!! Great bamboo green painting around the kitchen!! Very quite place in June, beautiful view, very clean and friendly!! Thank you again for the baking trays and We hope you enjoy our little French Canadien Cakes!!
Very spacious camp with good views from a lot of the sites. Also had some more private sites if one wanted. Weather was not good when we stayed but could see it would be a good well run camp, & really busy in the summer. Rough road in but think this is a council issue. Really great manager.
Really beautiful campground at an awesome lake...it would be good to update the Rankers App because in the App it seems that there are two ways leading to the campground but it is only one, the other one is only for pedestrians.
what a treasure! Most beautiful location in a seemingly very remote and awesome peaceful and quiet surrounding. Views are fantastic, and the host lady welcoming. Amenities good, host lady very friendly and welcoming. Only drawback is that the whole camping ground is very dusty, no grass, and customers really must be considerate of each other when driving (and they should be made aware at arrival!), which unfortunately in some cases they are not. Bit challenging to find the facilities at night when you are at the top level as there is no light and access via a steep narrow path.Good walking tracks around.
great facilities - very little light pollution so the stars are AMAZING!
Very nice hosts, beautifully situated bush site camp, enough toilets and showers, good fishing and bike hire.
This is a great place to stay. Just beside the beautiful lake in Wanaka. The camp is well organized and clean with nice facilities. Glen, who runs the camp is very friendly and helpful willing to solve any problem with a smile.
We had an electricity problem in our campervan and Glen helped us quickly and efficiently. We had a wonderful experience - 2 nights, highly recommended!!
Plenty of things to do around the camp and the town.
Absolutely fabulous place to stay. We booked one night on arrival but ended up staying for three. The sites are quite secluded which makes it feel quite private. Facility block was a little older than some bit still clean and serviceable. Very handy to great walks and mountain biking and far enough out of Wanaka to feel less touristy. Would recommend.
Wonderful campsite, lots of space, clean. Very friendly staff. Plenty to do: biking, fishing, walking. Easy walk into town.
Great fishing, 4lb trout for tea
we felt really welcome here. the camp sites are beautiful. would go there again :-)
very very friendly and helpful people are running this resort. the nature here is beautiful. and i just caught my first salmon in lake wanaka.
the camping ground is very clean and so are the facilities. the price is very fair compared to the other camping sites i have been to. would definitely come back, thank you!
Loved this place! Nice natural setting with beautiful scenery surrounding it. The owners are really friendly and helpful and were awesome to deal with. We arrived in the dark and woke up to the most gorgeous views in our powered van site. It was spot on!
If you want a luxury camp site maybe go elsewhere but if you a looking for a slice of paradise - STAY HERE!
Very friendly staff. At the lake but no lake view sites for the vans. Perfect 7km morning jogging track with great views.
Do you want a great Camping / Van stay in Wanaka a an affordable Price? This is certainly a very good option. We stayed here for 5 days recently. All the facilities are more than adequate but the views of the Lake, the alps and the Clutha river are magnificent. There is heaps of room with plenty of options as to where you park up or pitch your tent. Of course you can opt to stay in one of the many cabins which suit your budget. There are also DOC along the river and lake side which we thoroughly enjoyed.
I stayed at this very unique and bush setting camp ground for just on two and a half weeks over December- January, what a awesome spot.I found that the facilities were always clean. The owners of the camp Glen & Tracy were very helpful, they went out of their way to help when ever there was a problem, what ever it may of been. the view was out of this world, the walks, bike tracks were amazing. The camp was dog friendly which you cannot find at many camp grounds. I will certainly return there next time I'm back in N.Z. I recommend this camp ground to everyone.
I stayed here for 3 weeks, this spot has a WOW factor, extremely friendly, helpfull owners, local knowledge was out standing. The camp it self was huge & very interesting to wander around, the scenic beauty & walks were outstanding a far cry from the normal commercially run camps that I have experienced in my travels. This camp is a must to visit, the excess to the lake & the lake views is sensational. The camp facility's were very clean, I noticed that they had a thorough clean twice daily, which is very good, yes you did have to pay a $1.00 for a hot shower & pay to use the washing machines, but don't we live in a user pay world???? I will return to this camp when ever Im in the Wanaka area, and recommend this camp to any one.
Pretty campsite just out of Wanaka. Close to Puzzle World. Swings, flush toilets, nice grounds and walks by a little river.
While we did have a great view from our pitch, and the manager was friendly, I could not recommend this park for several reasons. For starters, the dirt road into the park is so badly rutted. It is like driving over a washboard. When we arrived, we could not find anyone at reception. Eventually the owner did show up, but it was frustrating to ring with no response. To reach the bathrooms from our pitch, you had to walk down a steep dirt trail. If it has been raining, it would have been a slide through the mud. The rubbish bins were overflowing and the facilities just had an overall run down appearance. There was an ad posted for someone to come to work in this park to help maintain it. Obviously, the folks who run it are unable to keep it up at the current time.
Beautiful setting, but a bit shabby in appearance. Hardly any grass, and it can be windy. But given that, it works fine as a basic facility. Easy access to lake and river trails.
Very friendly welcome and a choice of spots (we were asked if we wanted to be secluded or with others, close to the amenities etc) An absolutely stunning location with incredible views across the lake to Mt Aspiring...top notch! Great walks around the lake, clean facilities only downside was $1 for a 5 minute shower (water was hot tho!) Washing machines available but says takes 25mins when they take more like 45 mins...overall one of our favourite places to stay, we had lovely quiet secluded un-powered sites which cost us $28 for the night. noice!
Beautiful and big places, good view over lake and river, cheap, good facilities.
Nice place by the Lake. Refreshing swim. Clean toilets. Helpful and nice host. If you want a nice pla to stay in Wanaka, go for Lake Outlet:-)
Fantastic campsite with great views over the lake. Glenn and Tracy provide a very warm welcome and have a great deal of local knowledge so can recommend activities and outings to suit anybody's tastes. There are some beautiful walks right by the campsite and direct access to awesome trout fishing and also world class mountain biking right on the doorstep. Definitely highly recommend this campsite and hope to be back one day!
Mike & Julia Stone
Breathtaking views and the real outdoors away from but near enough to town, rustic, natural setting. Outstanding scenic lake, forest and mountain views and a peaceful setting.
fantastic camp with amazing views! Just a slice of paradise
Great views, spacious but very rough approach road. Reasonably priced.
Des & Ann Bidwell
Good and quiet location, being developed well.
Basic, nice nature, beautiful outlook on the lake and simple.
Beautiful lakeside campsite, with a great lakeside walk to Albert Town.
Reasonably priced at $28 for two people in a campervan - without power.
Downside was $1 for the shower, which didn't last that long, $3 for washing and $3 for drying wasn't too bad though as both had a long cycle.
Nice view of the lake. Clean bathrooms.
Totally unimpressed by this holiday park. Facilities were basic - they are in desperate need of a complete upgrade. Beautiful location does not make up for poor facilities. Over-priced when one considers other similarly priced parks with far better facilities. Seems to me that many other reviewers have very low expectations and are willing to accept low standards whilst paying hefty rates.
Fabulous site on lake and river with beautiful sunrise and night sky was spectacular - facilities well cared for.
Very good sites. Beautiful.
Lovely campsite with amazing views, nice facilities and friendly owners. Reasonably priced.
We were here for three nights and had a great stay. This campsite is a little out of Wanaka. The location is fantastic, right on the lake. You are right beside a lovely lakeside DOC walk. The campsite is very green, with native bush. The sites are large and ours felt really private and secluded though a quick walk to the facilites. Great that there is no artificial lighting around the site at night. It feels very natural. Only you have the upside of the comforts of a good kitchen and hot showers. Glenn and Tracy are really friendly with good suggestions of things to do. We loved it here and ended up staying an extra night because we didn't want to leave!
Stunning views direct from site, camping ground green, peaceful, natural campground, friendly staff.
Excellent location, friendly staff, beautiful views from campsites.
Lovely location, very clean facilties, friendly hosts, cheap mountain bike hire, lovely walks from campsite.
Nice places to camp, bushes and trees, lake view, good location for tramping and mountain biking. Friendly owners.
Best view!!! Cheap, nice owners, hot showers, peaceful and secluded.
Excellent location away from town. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. $11.90 with isite leaflet. It needs a little bit more bush between camping spots.
Ini & Cees
Beautifully set among the native tea-tree bushes on the Wanaka Lake side, some 5km away from Wanaka. Nice river and lakeside walks. Friendly staff.
Amazing site with panoramic views of the Lake, good ammenities, lake swimming, walks, cycle routes and all topped off with very friendly and helpful hosts.
A huge campground on the Lake. Very friendly, clean and a lot of space around the van. 'Hot lights' in the showers! $30NZD for a powered site.
Views, guides helpful, friendly , showers simple but extremely clean, changing towels twice a day.
FANTASTIC! My Family made the trip through from Dunedin, we hired out a 3 room tent, this came fully kitted out with everything you could possibly need - literally just turn up with clothes and food and your sorted, plus you get the 'camping' experience, beautiful views, lake is a stones through away. Hosts were fantastic and friends, facilities are top notch, showers must be on gas - high pressure instant hot water. Camping ground gives off more of a rural/nature camping feel that an actual holiday parks, sites are nicely situated between manuka trees and bushes - so very private. Lots of walking/biking scenic tracks close, some go through to Wanaka township. We thoroughly enjoyed it, our 4.5 year old son was in love. Couldn't get over how much stuff came with the tent! Was exactly like the true NZ camping experience - just without the setting/packing up :) Loved it and will stay again.
Probably my favourite site from a month's campervanning in NZ. Such a beautiful location, my van directly overlooking the lake and mountains, good facilities, really friendly and helpful campsite owners and great to be able to hire a bike to ride round the lakeside to Wanaka itself. And a sensible price for a single traveller. Don't be put off by the dirt road to get there - well worth the bumps. Lovely!
Great location. Spacious sites, well managed campground.
Kaddi & Grego
Old but beautiful.
Beautiful campsite and scenery. Great service.
Great campground with a view across Lake Wanaka and towards Mount Aspiring. Good facilities.
Beautiful. Good views, good kitchen.
Stayed here one night in a hired camper. Great location. Site over looked the lake and the beginning of the mighty Clutha River (that we followed along down to the Clyde Dam). Lovely people and camp layout in the trees. Only downside was the showers. Low pressure single taps that you adjust yourself and change as others turn on and off their taps. Quite dangerous for children.
Very nice place, seeview, big camping sites, good price.
Perfect location overlooking the lake, with great views of several beaches. Walked back via the beach.
Nicky and Andy Prescott
Good facilities but a queue for the showers in the morning. Swimming in the lake and great mountain bike tracks next to site.
Owner is on the site and is very attentive about tour needs. very scenic.
Thirza & Roeland
Really nice places, nice clean, warm toilets, showers. Super view!
Matthiis & Femke
Not if you want to be able to walk into town from your campsite but this secluded campsite has a nice vibe of it's own with spacious sites with great views and directly located at Lake Wanaka. Ideal for a relaxing stop on the way or to walk or to do mountain biking.
Best place to stay in Wanaka
Friendly, helpful reception - large sites, so privacy. Good showers at no extra cost. Clean, good laundry. Clean kitchen
The most beautiful place we stayed so far. Great views over the mountains and the lakes good facilities and friendly staff.
Nice secluded spot & excellent views over the lake. Toilets & showers were nice and clean, however there was a lack of lighting at night to guide you! It was also quite hard to find the campsite when we arrived.
Spectaclur views and walks and great value. Campsite had adequate if somewhat crowded facilities.
Views stunning (from lookout pitches) over lake & mountains.
Good facilities with outstanding views.
Near lake, beautiful surroundings, nice staff, good facilities. Paid.
Affordable, really friednly owners. Lots of trees & space around you. Basic but clean facilities.
Woodland campground. Feels very secluded. On the beach but away from the hub of Wanaka. Good facilities & only $10 per night with discount.
