Camping NZ NEW

Welcome to New Zealand's most comprehensive database of freely available camping information. This is the only travel map of its kind in NZ.

John and Beryl welcome you to Leith Valley Holiday Park and Motels, situated at 103 Malvern Street, Dunedin, New Zealand.

Our peaceful, sheltered accommodation is sited on the banks of the lovely Leith Stream with access to bush walks and glowworms, yet only 1km from Dunedin's main street. We have accommodation for all budgets with a choice from self-contained motels, apartment, tourist flats, cabins, and a bunk room catering for up to 8 people. There is a great choice of sites for caravan/campervans as well as powered and non-powered tent sites.

We are very proud of the quality accommodation offered at Leith Valley which provides best value as indicated by the feedback we receive from our guests.

Leith Valley Holiday Park and Motels is located close to Dunedin's George Street and is under 3km from all the shopping in the city centre and north Dunedin. We are also the closest holiday park to the Otago University, the Forsyth Barr Stadium, the Botanic Gardens and the main Dunedin hospital.

This is considered to be the village end of Dunedin with its low-rise boutique shops, pubs and restaurants. Our motel and holiday park can be used as a base to explore all of the popular cafés, restaurants, cinemas, the casino, conference centre, town hall complex, and the main shopping centre.

All of Dunedin's main sporting facilities, including the new covered stadium, the University Oval, the Caledonian Sports Ground, the Edgar Centre, Logan Park, Alexander McMillan Turf (hockey) and Moana Pool, are all situated within a short driving distance. We are also close to Baldwin Street, considered to be the world's steepest residential street.

Very peaceful setting among trees and next to a stream. Plenty of facilities that are very clean. Bus stop is just 100m down the road ($3 to town) or an easy 5 minute drive to city centre. Spent 2 nights here on our way south. Loved it so much we spent another 2 nights on our way north.
Recommend the bush walk from the back of the camp up to NZ's oldest working water reservoir.

A lovely friendly place, think birds and bush.. we stayed in the cabins. Very cosy, very clean, I had a great night’s sleep. Toilets and showers lovely and very clean. Good kitchen facilities, great games room. I would highly recommend this place, and would book again if I needed too.

Really bad customer service and really small site, definitely wasn’t worth the money - won’t be coming back or recommending.

Site is in a nice spot and has reasonable amenities. Its further from town centre than the Rankers info implies (1km to main street - didn't mention another 3km to centre). Kitchen needs extractor fans ( which would also help with the "old" odour in the amenity block) and better configuration. A stove between 2 fridges is a hard spot up cook in a busy kitchen. Bathrooms good, clean and hot showers without timers.

Great facilities - though a bit expensive ($44 for powered site).

I am travelling alone in a Campervan. Had to pay 25 NZD for one unpowered site and one night. The facility is quiet, but has seen better days. Free unlimited WiFi, hot showers. Coin paited dryer and washing machine. City center takes 45 minutes to walk. Overall okay.

Clean bathrooms and kitchen. Friendly staff that offered us free DVDs for the night and table tennis.
Very close to town but beautiful setting right on the Leith. The sound of the water at night is quite relaxing.
Only negatives would be that it's a bit old and the taps in the bathroom had to be held down with your hand for it to work.
Other than that it was great. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay here. Friendly lady in the office easily accomodated our group of 4 motorhomes without a booking she also lent us some dvds. There was also lots of room to maneuver our motorhomes into their spaces. Kitchen was well equipped, lovely clean toilets and showers. We all enjoyed the games area and there was plenty of seating for dining or just relaxing. Surrounding area is very pretty.
