Nice flat site beside the Oamaru Gardens. 15 minute walk to town through the gardens. Facilities clean, bathroom heated. Did hear the trains a few times during the night. Plenty of activities here for children and a playground down the road. $50 per night for 2 on powered site.

The positives....Lovely surroundings and location right next to beautiful gardens and children’s playground. Very nice 20 min walk to town. Friendly helpful staff. Free DVD loans. Mini golf was great, tricky and each hole has a local theme. Lovely hot showers. Kitchen clean and adequate. Free BBQs. Kangaroo jump and tramp were great. Clean bathrooms that seemed a bit warmer and more modern than others we’ve come across. One negative was the trains in the night but fine once you know what they are. We stayed an extra night.

What a wonderful place to stay ! Highly recommend. Facilities 10 out of 10 ☺️
Thank you we definitely will be back xo
Great clean park with the powered site we needed. Last minute decision to stay in Oamaru and very glad we did. Lots of things to do and see here. Very clean showers, toilet and kitchen. Would stay again.
Great campsite with all the usual amenities and then some. The staff were friendly and helpful, the grounds were well maintained. The bathrooms seem to have been recently renovated so are very modern and clean, my only complaint would be that there are only two showers and two toilets per bathroom which isn’t much for such a large campground.
Reasonable services, kitchen/toilet block has recently been refurbished. DVD library to borrow a movies for the night was a nice touch. Location was a 10min walk from shops but had noise from heavy vehicles through the night. It was OK for the price.
We really loved this park, beautiful green grass & gravel pull ins. It’s right next to a peaceful public gardens, perfect for a stroll. They have private jacuzzi tubs you can rent for $10, perfect on a cold day. Facilities are clean big. Will stay again!

Extremely lovely staff and very helpful in terms of what to do in Oamaru. Slightly outdated but extremely tidy kitchens and bathrooms. Bit of wifi included. Nice flat sites of both gravel and grass. Short walk to town through to garden. Would stay again!
Oamaru TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Hi Ben & Liv
Thank you for your feed back. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us & found the staff helpful. Yes our ablutions are at a very high standard they are used as an example for other parks to view for ideas before doing their up grades. The Gardens are amazing with all the Monarch Butterflies at the moment. Glad you enjoyed your stay
Facilities good, overpriced, friendly staff, between train tracks and road.
Arrived without reservation but no problem despite the Blues &Jazz festival that weekend. Nice stroll through the park into town late afternoon but walked back along the road after dark as the park was not lit. Used the showers. Only stayed one night.
Decent bathrooms, showers and communal kitchen. Staff was friendly. $36 for campervan site for 2 people.

My husband and I arrived at Oamaru Top 10 at dusk, about 8:30pm, which we thought was absolutely fine. there was no-one at the office but there was a note on the window which said "if you arrive late, just take a spot and pay in the morning". We didn't have a tent or campervan, we needed a room. There was a bell that my husband rung and a lady came up behind us and my husband said "sorry to bother you, but we are in need of a room for the night", he is always very polite. The lady was absolutely so rude and mannerless! She was mad that we arrived at that time, which we had never experienced before. We had arrived late at other places before and had never experienced such rudeness from anyone. There was a spa there which closed at 9pm but didn't even want to ask as she had alreay bit my husbands head off. If you want to run a business where you have to work with the public, being absolutely rude to guests is NOT a good if you want to make a living! She was obviously not a people person so I have no idea why she would want to run a camping ground. The room was ok, the amentities were good. Disappointed that she made us feel like we couldn't ask to use the spa though. I wouldn't recommend Oamaru Top 10 and won't ever be staying there again.

Easy to find, good location. Nice friendly staff. Quite close sites, but ample space. Easy walk into town. Excellent facilities.. toilets showers kitchen etc. $36 for 2 in unpowered van. Happy to return
Top showers (best in 5 weeks around the country). As indicated there are extra toilets and showers near the reception. Kangoroo jumper and trampoline (they set it straight 😉). Facilities are great and very clean. Reception closed at 7pm but free spots were well indicated on a map. Few permanent recidents but not the messy ones. Next to the road and the railway, but it didn't bother us. Had a good sleep.

Lovely central holiday park, large caravan sites, facilities very clean. Grounds in excellent condition. Hosts friendly and helpful. Recommend.
Stayed for two nights as close to town, but not 10 minutes as claimed on Rankers, more like 20-25 minutes.
That said the warden was friendly and helpful, the pitches were in good condition and all numbered which always helps. The toilets and showers were clean and well maintained and the kitchen well equipped but a bit small.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
Heated and modern shower/toilet block. Kitchen area tiny and the kids playground area very muddy. Too many permanents though make it feel like a caravan village instead of a holiday park. It was very muddy and sites close together.
Spent 2 nights here and found it to be great.... service on checking it was fantastic and informative and the overall condition of the facilities were great! All but one block of toilets had been upgraded to an extremely high finish and made the stay even easier. The whole family looks forward to our next visit!!

The warm water in the two kitchens and the washrooms and shower rooms was simply turned off. Thats really bad!
Great maintained park, super clean and equiped, friendly staff, just outside city centre. Lovely town , recommend a visit.
Lovely staff. $30 for 2 people non powered. Good BBQ. We liked it.
Good, clean facilities. Friendly host. Glad we picked this site compared to the other camp in Oamaru.
One of the best during our 10 days trip. Clean and warm kitchen, shower, and toilets. Good bbq pit. Super friendly staff and quiet location. Thumbs up!!
Our first 10 becomes this Top 10 Holiday Park. Because of its friendly welcome, heated modern kitchen and clean toilets and most of all the very warm shower.
Internet was good, $5.00 extra for 24 hours and 10GB. We paid $40.00 for a powered place.
A very well equipped and very clean site. Bordered by a small river and the railroad (trains run at night!)
Nice campground with good facilities. A playground on site and very close to a huge park and playground. Quiet location close to city center
Stayed got one night on a non powered tent site. They site was flat and there were hedges and trees separating that the sites from each other which was good. Good location particularly for town and the penguin colony. It was close to the railway tracks which were noisy when they went passed however this was relatively infrequent. Free showers and clean facilities. However price was high for a non powered tent site at $38.
Nice campsite with good facilties, onsite ducks and close to the centre of town.
Clean and spacious.
Clean facilities but not very spacious and near the main road and train track!
Good sanitary facilities, sometime expensive, sometimes small places.
Our background: We stayed here during our 5 weeks campervan tour through the north and south island. We were 2 adults and a baby (9 months) and travelled with a large campervan.
Rating: a typical top 10 holiday park. Not too much space but nice and clean facilities. Stands on grass available. Nice walk into town through a beautiful park. When we stayed we did not have noice neither from the street nor from the railway. Place was not busy during our stay. Not sure how it would feel during pesk season.
Nice surroundings with good facilities. We loved the place!
Average site where you are packed in on top of each other. On the occasion we stayed the manager stated that the general manager of Big4 caravan parks was staying on the Monday. She also advised that there was only 1 amenities block open during winter, but this changed when the GM arrived. On one night they even parked another van next to us on the access road when over half the park was empty. They did manage to open another amenities block when the GM arrived, can't have him queueing now can we?. On the good side the showers were clean and ample hot water and pressure.
For a 'chain' company site, good, adjacent to lovely town park and very friendly helpful manager.
Fred and Carin
Most of them lay outside the city and the quality varies.
The sanitation was unworthy of a Top10 park and the price.
Great site - nice tidy and clean - good facilities and reasonably sized pitches.
Close to the town and right next to a wonderful botanical garden and a large playground. There is a good cafe on the same steet as the campsite (Chelmer St 1).
The showers nearest to the office are larger and much nicer than the ones closest to the tent/powered sites. Expect some noise from the railway!
Loved it! Older, but upgraded facilities. Endless hot water and extremely clean bathrooms. Easy drive thru sites. Hosts were lovely. Pointed out local sites on a map, but added all the free things to do (very helpful at the end of the holiday and an 8yr old) gorgeous town. Ducks with ducklings walking between the vans. Not much play equipment, but fantastic park about 200 metres away. Would stay here again.

Clean and tidy site - very good.
Botanical Gardens = world class aquatic centre. The best. Photocentre = terrific. Penguins, buildings = best town we visited!
David & Sue Lokkerbol
Perfectly acceptable, cabins not quite so polished as best in class.
Oamaru top 10 holiday park is the worst place I have ever stayed in. I have never been treated so appallingly in my life. The manager was extremely rude, judgmental of my weight, age and maturity. I felt discriminated against and in general was disgusted in their behavior and attitude. Would never recommend this holiday park to anyone.
Road noise was fine though I found it disconcerting to be so close to the road. Hubby freaked out when train rumbled past during the night as we didn't realize how close it was. Facilities were the best I'd ever come across due to recent refurb. I spent an hour lounging in the laundry room reading complimentary mags. Receptionist was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Disappointed with 'playground' though. Luckily there was only our 2 kids there as one trampoline and a tiny fort isn't big enough to accommodate many kids.
Again good clean facilities and most helpful personnel.
Relatively expensive - why ? The site is clean enough but as other reviewers have pointed out, it lies between a road (not that busy, but nevertheless with some traffic) and a railway along which a noisy train occasionally rumbles, and the facilities aren't that good for the number of campers. Still, the walk through the local park/botanic garden into the town is pleasant
Good facilities but beside the road and railway.
A pretty holiday park with clean facilities...hot showers and plenty of bench space in kitchen area. We had a quiet night with very little road noise. Lovely grounds and the kids loved all the ducks!
Good - very busy.

Close to attractions in town, walking distance which is a real plus.
Leon van Hengel
Bad place. A few showers only. Too bad for a Top10 Holiday Park. Small sites.
Nice camping area - poor facilities. 2 showers for the whole campsite.
A bit too small spaces, less showers and resources.
Mike and Diane Baker
Has Oamaru gardens and park next door, great for walks, shop, across road and township within walking distance.
Facilities could have been better.
Very crowded and very noisy from the road and railway.
Next to a loud street, but near to the highlights.
Bad location, near the road.
Really Top 10?
No extra charge for showers, cheap laundry, nice people working there, good and clean facilities, beautiful botanic garden just next to the camperground.
Helpful staff to organise trips.
