Very nice place close to the beach but away from the city. The facilities are slightly outdated but the water is hot and the facilities themselves are very clean. I was in an unpowered site which cost $20 for one person for one night. Unfortunately I was too far away from the WiFi which was a bummer as it was finally somewhere that offered more than 500mb. Very friendly, helpful staff. I recommend this place

This was the best holiday park we could find close to Christchurch. At $34 it was reasonably priced. The toilets were clean and tidy although it was difficult getting good hot water. We were parked in a very open area with no privacy. Permanent residents had lovely pitches.
Very nice place to stay. Clean and calm. Bathrooms with good hot showers. Very very nice and helpful hosts!!! Quite short distance to the airport if you have to catch a flight the next day but want to stay close to the beach :)
We rate this place the best in the Christchurch area, and we have stayed at most of the others. It has large comfortable pitches many of which are really private and pleasant and above all it is peaceful and quiet. Many of the others are on busy roads or too close to the airport. Owners are new and friendly and really making lots of improvements. Toilets are middling but well cleaned but the kitchen is very well equipped. Only downside is the Wi-Fi which is dead slow but they are promising to sort it soon. Close to the beach and has a regular bus into the city from outside the gate. We love the place!
Great campground, great facilities, great hot showers! Lovely playground for the kids. Stayed here for two nights and came back again when we had our last night in NZ.
Good price! We paid $45,- for the 5 of us (3kids).
Clean and nice bathrooms with good hot shower! Nice kitchen, big grounds, everything really nice here! Price for that is totally ok and the wifi worked fell good, not like the other reviews say...
Well priced, free WiFi on arrival. Facilities were old but always clean. Reception lady was lovely. Real community vibe there. Not much in the area - just residential - so a good spot to stop if you don't want to be in town or before flying out the following day.
$20 for 1 person in a non powred site. $4 wash $2 dry (you'll need to do it twice) The WiFi ruined it for me. That's more important than they think, they gave me 1G free but parked me too far away to get it. And I got permanently locked out when I went closer. The WiFi is useless. Facilities are old but clean..
Access savings worth hundreds of $$ on Top Ranked NZ Accommodation and Activities for just $1 per day.
Good camping, worth the 34$ for both of us and our campervan, we had a lot of space and facilities near by. The only negative point is the free wifi, almost useless.
Grassy sites, clean facilities. Amenities are old but refurbished. Great price.
5 of us with large campervan, was just $14 each, very good price in Christchurch. Hot water has no limited time provided, clean & tidy kitchen, washing machine & dryer is provided, $2 each, but the dryer was hot enough. Other than that is perfect.
Arrived just before office closed at 8pm. Kindly accommodated with excellent overnight spot. Generous with leaving time. Great facilities.

Great location and great price with free WiFi. This is a city camp site with a nice kiwi feel to it - plenty of space and good facilities block which are now up and running. A good start or a good end to any Christchurch trip. A couple of points lost for a few too many permanent campers and camper van facilities all a bit isolated. Generally though not a bad spot near to the airport and city.
The facilities have been rebuilt and look really nice! The kitchen area is spacious and there’s plenty of room to sit, both indoors and outdoors. The showers have unlimited hot water and are nice and clean. You also get 1GB of free WiFi to use everywhere on the camp site. We loved to jump on the trampoline and best of all, the beach is just down the road!
Little campsite directly by the water, nice views and not to far away from the city. The toilets and showers are being remodelled at the moment and you need to use containers instead but they get cleaned everyday and the water is warm.
Staff friendly and accommodating. Average facilities, but still rebuilding after the earthquake damage. Expensive for a tiny patch to park the van. Nothing fancy but again, recovering from earthquake. Was our first night of a 2 week trip. Worked for us for a late check in close to Christchurch. Worth a look, see how the reno's go!

Great location, walking distance to the beach and friendly staff.
Conveniently located motor park away from city centre but amenities let it down as they are located in transportable buildings and not very user friendly.
I'm torn about reviewing this site but it isn't really ready yet! It has so much potential ... great space and the new owners are lovely. It was very cheap for the night and facilities were clean. They are however in for a big clean up job - lots and lots of mud and way too many permanents that sprawl out like it's a homeless camp. The landscaping needs major work but the new owners haven't had time yet to pull it off. I'd support them and give them a chance - and I bet in 6-12 months this place will be great!

Good facilities, the staff were friendly and helpful. Location is nice, close to the shops and beach. Price is reasonable.
Fantastic, quiet, tucked away van park. The new owners took over on Monday and are lovely. The amenities are in containers for another few months as buildings are repaired from the quake. They are still better than some we have come across and the showers are super hot!! 2 minute walk to the beach or estuary and 3km along the beach to New Brighton and cafes etc.
We paid $34 for an unpowered campervan site for 2 people here. We enjoyed being so close to a nice beach, but didn't feel that this campsite had much else going for it. The campsite itself is a bit confusing to navigate and the facilities were very industrial, nothing very welcoming. A fine place to camp but no special views or amenities.
Loved this campsite. The host was very friendly and we chatted a while. The park is very well-equipped and very close to South Brighton beach for a lovely seaside walk by sunset.
Make sure you look up at night time as the stars are very bright from here!
Close to the beach. Nice atmosphere. Not far from the city. Sites are separated by hedges. Sanitary facilities undergoing renovation at the moment but excellent containers with showers and toilets provided. Not too cheap though. Paid $17 per person, unpowered campervan site.
Nice Spot! 5 minutes walk to the sea. Clean facilities and some small kitchen equipment. Water is drinking water. Free and unlimited showers. (Hairdryers can be lent for free). 100 MB free per day. $34 for 2 persons/ unpowered site. Washing machine $3 and dryer $2.
Close to Christchurch, 2 blocks away from the beach, 3 km to the grocery store. Friendly staff, clean showers and toilets in temporary buildings. Strange layout of the campsite made it feel more crowded. $18 per person for a powered site.
Great spot, been knocked around by the earthquakes a bit but the temporary facilities are great. Well set out park at a reasonable price.
The best part of my stay here was when i left.
I am stunned by such high rating contradicting reviews for this camping ground.
Due to obvious prior disaster, all the original facilities block was fenced off, and un-used.
The replacement facilities were of the likes found on construction sites, made up of aluminium sheds consisting of toilets, showers, kitchen, and laundry.
The showers were hot but dirty, the same hygiene to be found in the kitchen, with un-cleaned counters and dripping taps (granted the kitchens condition was probably down to the residents, rather than the owners).
Despite the sad history regarding Christchurch and the earthquakes,it felt like this place was a temporary home for people made homeless by the disaster and i cannot overlook that the best thing for this site is to level it and rebuild it again or give up because it is failing on so many levels.
Camping very nice and clean. 45 minutes by bus ($3.50) from the center of Christchurch. The owner and very friendly and gives all the information requested and a leaflet with the bus timetable. Not a bad place. Sanitary and temporary but spacious and clean kitchen. Games and swimming pool for children and not far from supermarkets (Countdown).
Nice Camping Naer a bautiful beach, You can evrywhere see the problems of the earthcrake. Easy to go with the bus to the center of Christchurch. Very friendlyand helpful staff. Good and clean toilets and showers in Containers. Nice kitchen Quiat place.
Great little campsite, very friendly staff and situated a few blocks from the beach but not visible from the site. New facilities have just been put in, the showers and toilets are both of a good quality, High hedges offering good privacy.
Spent our first night here, very friendly staff and very helpful :) earthquake damage still a problem around as such alot of roadworks around and weight limits on bridges can make it a little hard to navigate to.
Very clean and hedges add some privacy compared to alot of other parks we stayed at.
27Mar14, Our first 2 nights in NZ. Friendly staff. Good facilities bearing in mind still getting over the earthquake damage. Nice location. Would go there again.
An excellent very clean camp. Watch the sun set from the estuary, then 10 minute walk to see the moon rise out of the sea.
Good campsite for a first night stop. Close to beach. Pitches have good amount of space between them. Showers bright and very clean - really good water presure.
Staying here puts much needed money into the New Brighton economy.
Really enjoyed staying here as we had a choice of sites which were very spacious and from what we could see all the sites in the park were very roomy. This is a simple clean site and although they were rebuilding the kitchen and bathrooms the temporary facilities where very good. It was 15 minutes drive from the CBD and very quiet. This park also has access to the beach also though we did not visit the because because of the weather I would imagine it would have been nice to visit. Would definitely stay here again.
A most peaceful and welcoming oasis close to Christchurch City. I spent several days here and found the hosts most helpful, the site clean and cared for, and I could easily have stayed longer, had time permitted. Situated between the estuary and the beach this site has easy access to good walks and views, and a direct bus service to the city should you wish to leave the camper 'at home'. Many thanks, JK
Friendly welcome with a choice of sites to choose from. Most campervan sites have a hedge on one or two sides which gives a little privacy and hides the plug-ins, etc. Ablutions, laundry and kitchen all in new portable "containers" as original building damaged in the earthquake and could not be used. Biggest Plus - close to beach and we had a great 6km walk to Brighton Pier and back in the early morning. Biggest Dislike - dogs now permitted and many sites have distinct urine smells although we did not see any faeces anywhere.
Nice little spot 5 min walk from New Brighton beach. Even though it has been affected by the earthquakes they have set up excellent temporary facilities. Nice hot free showers. Clean toilets. Free limited wifi. We were on a powered site in our campervan. Had hedges all around the sites so you were still fairly private from your neighbour. Cost $42 for 2 adults and 1 child. Stayed one night end of September 2013. Would recommend.
Lovely site, fantastic for trips into the city and great for the beach. The managers were super friendly, facilities really great (including free hot showers) and the free broadband allowance was most appreciated.

This place gets an "almost" rating.
Almost good value. Almost friendly. Almost private. Almost clean.
Almost enjoyed our stay. But not quite.
Was the best we could find in the area though.
Perfectly pleasant site a little way out of Christchurch, by sea and estuary. Facilities pretty good, site itself fine. Free wifi was a nice perk too, although only covered half the site.
Really nice facilities, hot showers and kitchen available. Semi private lots with free 100 MB Internet. Lots of nice areas for kids to play including a large play structure. Busy during the day, quiet at night.
$32 per nigth for two persons including free hot showers and internet. Very clean.
Well equipped site in very good location - between estuary and sea - lots of green space.
pleasant grassy semi-private hedged site areas, good facilities, and there are nice walks either to and along the ocean beach, or along the estuary right by the site
Nice laid back area near good surf beaches. Amenities good but may depend which site you get. Nice private tree lined sites and seemed to concentrate big families in one area.
Good facilities - able to borrow kitchen/cooking equipment from office, warm shower - free!! Range of accommodation, good value.
Sanitary was below standard.
