Fantastic location. You can pretty much camp on the beach and there's a great point break. Perfect peeling waves with pretty much no one on them!! We stayed here 2 nights.

Nice campsite with great facilities that are regularly cleaned. Showers don't require coins and had good pressure. We stayed there on our way down and when we returned again. Beautiful beach with great waves for surfing. Saw some dolphins there too. The unpowered seaview site is very exposed to wind, and the sand is soft, so make sure that you have big pegs if you are planning on tenting.

Paid extra for ‘beach front’ and instead we’re 3rd row back from the beach with campervans blocking any possible view of the sea. Specifically requested as close to the beach as possible, checked in by just after 2 and were still plenty of actual beach front spots available but were told they’d already been allocated. Dissapointing, don’t bother paying more for powered sea front site.

Extremely friendly and relaxed staff. Welcomed us after sundown and was very helpful. Facilities are good. Had a nice unpowered spot right by the beach. Showers were good, although a little tricky with the start/stop outside the cubicle.

We absolutely loved our stay! In fact, it was so good we stayed a second night on our way to Havelock, and stopped again on the way home. The views are stunning and watching the dolphins frolicking was a highlight. The facilities are very clean, and the staff helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely be back!

Fairly dated but clean and maintained showers and kitchen. Nice hot showers. Shop inside and friendly staff. Nice spacious spots and on the beach. Not too far into kaikoura

I stayed 2 nights in a cabin, lovely hosts, road noise not an issue for me but may be for others, cabin spacious and clean, facilities were fine but very busy, only 2 showers and these were controlled on outside of the stall. Quite dark at night with minimal lighting but I like that. Would stay again.

We have mixed feelings about the place. Cabins are very smelly and old, moreover we were biten by bed bugs...stay away from the cabin 8!

Kaikoura Peketa Beach Holiday Park responds:

We are very shocked at your comments and know that these are not true. We take pride in the cleaning of the cabins and sheets ect are cleaned every day without exception. We have NEVER had bed bugs so maybe you should sit back and take a look at where your comments are coming from. We have been very busy with our cute cabins and have had not one bad review. Do try and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Stayed here just for one night. It's close to Kaikoura, a good place to be. The beachfront place I got was great. You can watch the sea and have a walk on the beach. The traffic-noise from the highway slows down at night, and the planes don't fly during night time. The only annoying things here are the showers: just two each for men and women in a block are not enough sometimes. There'll be a queue. And uncomfortable with a button to press for on and off, placed outside of the shower cabin...

Nice camping ground and a nice view to the sea. Kitchen is ok, but mens toilet unacceptable..ground is dirty from sand.. thats no problem but the rest seems to be cleaned up once every two weeks. The smell was horrible. Every long drop toilet has a better smell.Sorry there is a lot to improve

Beautiful spot, but NOT a safe swimming beach, especially for kids. Very crowded and noisy - motorway traffic is nearby, airplanes from the nearby airport fly very low overhead, and other campers play loud music into the night.

Facilities are great. Very clean and well maintained.

Good size pitches but quite confusing pitch marking. Plenty of people in wrong pitches causing some consternation. Showers dated and not ideal having to pay by putting money in outside the showers. Good access to beach.
