Ignore that 1/10 review. It’s obviously just sour grapes. Fantastic campground. All the facilities are clean and well maintained. Host is so friendly.
Showers are lovely and hot and they’re not timed.
You will need your own kitchen utensils, cutlery, pots etc.We came right after Cyclone Dovi so there has been a few trees down apparently and the host said the park was a mess but it seemed fine to us.
Great stay. No complaints whatsoever.

Stayed a night here either side of the Queen Charlotte Track walk and loved it. The staff are so friendly and accommodating to us arriving late and leaving late the morning after our walk when we couldn't quite get out of bed in time after QCT! The place is lovely and it was peaceful and not too busy when we were there in March. Nice hot showers and hair dryer in the bathrooms free of charge. A walk to The Jolly Rodger pub for fish and chips is a must!

Stayed here on the 6 March 2020 after catching the ferry from Wellington. Great campground with lots of space, shady trees or open sunny spots. Reasonable price for powered site. Free 5 gig wifi, really lovely friendly host. Toilets are clean and very well maintained. Didn’t use the kitchen as I have my own so didn’t check that out. We really enjoyed this campground will be staying here again for sure.

Awesome campground and facilities. Quiet and wasn’t too busy. I decided to spend 5 nights here.
The only drawback, is that on does need to use one’s transportation system for groceries and errands. But the wine tour company will come to get you there.

Also a pool, playground with trampoline, and elsewhere a big jumping-mat-thingy for the littlies. And free wifi, and super-friendly & helpful managers. $18pp for unpowered and $19pp for powered (Oct 2019). Highly recommend.

We rated this the best overall campsite in our tour of South Island. Spacious quiet pitch, super modern and clean facilities. Incredibly welcoming owner/staff who, as he saw us waiting outside for opening time, came out of the site on his bike to tell us we could come in early ! Do stop here rather than the cramped camp sites down the road in Picton (just 5 mins away by road).
Each camping location is approved by a regional council in NZ. So if it shows on the map, you’re allowed to stay.

This is easily the biggest park I’ve stayed at and with that comes its own set of challenges. One big open area with space for probably 60+ powered sites, more non-powered sites, cabins and tent areas. Can you tell I’m not fond of crowds? :)
That being said, the receptionist was polite, the facilities clean (the kitchen might not be big enough for this size though), the showers hot. But beware they’re limited in quantity too compared to the size of the place so you may end up with a queue.
It is convenient to the ferries and that’s a plus for the early out...
Parklands Marina Holiday Park Picton responds:
Thanks for your review, however please note that there are actually two amenities blocks. During your visit the other block, which you clearly didn't notice, was closed as it was off-peak (winter). We have never had any complaints with regards to queues as you suggest.

Great spot to go before catching the ferry. A bit of free wifi, showers were very very clean and washer & dryer worked great (yes, it cost $4 each, but seriously, clean clothes are worth that!). Spots were spaced nicely, not busy while we were there. I wouldn’t holiday there, but only because I like being more off the beaten track. The owner/manager was a straight forward & nice guy. Great recycling section, barbecue, lovely playground and swimming pool, mature trees and very quiet. Zero bugs.

Booked this wonderful site, needing somewhere to recharge batteries before catching our ferry.
What a find. It's brilliant. Our hosts Hayley and Nick are absolute sweethearts and nothing is too much trouble. The site is beautifully clean with excellent facilities. Large kitchen and dining room and the all important charging point for mobile devices. The kitchen is open 24/7 which is brilliant for topping hot water bottles up in the night. The disabled facilities are super. Boiling hot showers, a seat and plenty of grab rails, the best ones we've come across so far especially as is all self contained. Lovely courtyard and bbq area outside the kitchen which is a little sun trap. Site has very reasonable laundry facilities, $2 a wash and $4 for dryer. Washing lines available too. Great play area for children and a massive trampoline. Suitable for kids of all ages!!
We had an unpowered site with a tap on it which was perfect. Great picnic benches scattered around too and some natural shade from the trees. Lovely atmosphere on this site very calming and friendly. So very happy to have found it. A big thank you to Hayley and Nick for your welcome. Next time we're in NZ (in the summer!) We'll be back to see you. X

Nice camp ground with different options. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Facilities as kitchen, laundry, bathroom/shower are clean (for free). Camp ground for tents and Camper big enough. We had the free choice of choosing our pitch. Nice playground for kids, swimming pool (cold) and a lot of space anyway. We liked it! Eat your own prepared or in Picton. On Easter Sunday was a Easter Egg Hunt organized by the owners. Nice idea!

We went to every site in Picton and found this was by far the best. No traffic like some of the others and well worth the 5 minute drive to get out of the busy Picton Harbour.

Parklands was a great place to stay before an early ferry ride. Bathrooms clean and warm. They had untimed hot showers, a hairdryer provided, and even shower curtains between the wet area and the changing area of each shower. Add on many beautiful trees on the grounds, quiet location, short walk to a very nice, scenic marina (with big sting rays swimming near the surface, neat!). Also: big clean kitchen, TV room and billiards table, small swimming pool, and bounce pillow, WOW! AND the nicest person to welcome you, electricity and water, all for $32. Also a dump station. Also native birds, such as the cute Pukeko.

Was originally reluctant after seeing a "1" rating on the site, however we booked one night and extended to a week, the owners were very helpful and the park was very quiet and the facilities older than some were spotlessly clean and it is very quiet being off the main road unlike others. Would appear the "1" rating is revenge for being caught trying to sneak in some extra guests without paying, the managers a swiss couple are very friendly and helpful. Would stay again as there sites were the largest we encountered in two trips to NZ with plenty of room.
