Such a quiet and clean campsite. The bathrooms were sparkling and we had some cute little ducks waddle up to our van to keep us company. Free wifi and running water. Would absolutely stay here again.

In our opinion the perfect place to stay before your catch the ferry! It is close to the harbor (10 minute drive) and absolutely calm. The campground and all facilties are very clean and tidy and the sites have plenty of space. The welcome was very friendly. And the quality of the Wifi is excellent!
Great for late arrival on ferry. New facilities block and plenty of space
Excellent customer service, friendly staff, nice location
This site is perfect for families. Pool, playground and space. The hosts are very friendly and observant.

It is a great camping. I’m a biker and there are lost if green spaces to put your tent.
Great warm shower, super clean. Even a hairdryer is avaleble. A kitchen, also very clean.
We rated this the best overall campsite in our tour of South Island. Spacious quiet pitch, super modern and clean facilities. Incredibly welcoming owner/staff who, as he saw us waiting outside for opening time, came out of the site on his bike to tell us we could come in early ! Do stop here rather than the cramped camp sites down the road in Picton (just 5 mins away by road).
Awesome. Very very friendly staff so helpful. Lovely campsite. Well sheltered as we were expecting rain. Great kids play area and very peaceful. Cheaper than top 10 and swear it’s worth every penny. Would definitely recommend
Beautiful campsite with the owners very happy and helpful. When we said we had kids they offered to inflate the jumping pillow even though it was late afternoon and had been down due to the rain all day. A baby bath available in one toilet block and a really nice outdoor bbq area.
Lovely stay! Owners are very friendly, facilities are great and very clean, kitchen nice and big. Very nice feel to the camp. We came in Sept. but would be lovely in the summer with lots of outside seating near the kitchen!
This is easily the biggest park I’ve stayed at and with that comes its own set of challenges. One big open area with space for probably 60+ powered sites, more non-powered sites, cabins and tent areas. Can you tell I’m not fond of crowds? :)
That being said, the receptionist was polite, the facilities clean (the kitchen might not be big enough for this size though), the showers hot. But beware they’re limited in quantity too compared to the size of the place so you may end up with a queue.
It is convenient to the ferries and that’s a plus for the early out...
Parklands Marina Holiday Park Picton responds:
Thanks for your review, however please note that there are actually two amenities blocks. During your visit the other block, which you clearly didn't notice, was closed as it was off-peak (winter). We have never had any complaints with regards to queues as you suggest.
Most friendly and helpful owners. Well maintained and clear facilities.
Excellent site with a great laundry. A 15 minute walk to the Jolly Rodger restaurant and bar for great meals.
We would highly recommend it.
A fantastic place to stay
Very clean and comfortable
Save up to 70% on campsite fees! Support conservation and experience the natural beauty of NZ. 79 Department of Conservation campsites, one convenient pass.
Great spot to go before catching the ferry. A bit of free wifi, showers were very very clean and washer & dryer worked great (yes, it cost $4 each, but seriously, clean clothes are worth that!). Spots were spaced nicely, not busy while we were there. I wouldn’t holiday there, but only because I like being more off the beaten track. The owner/manager was a straight forward & nice guy. Great recycling section, barbecue, lovely playground and swimming pool, mature trees and very quiet. Zero bugs.
Happy Camping 🌿
Beautiful campsite with many trees, very friendly owners, nice and clean toilets and showers, very good facilities (kitchen, BBQ, pool). I would definitely stay there again.
Wi-Fi works well, facilities close and super clean, surrounded by green hills and close to Picton.
Great place to stop for the next day ferry. Very friendly and helpful at reception, gave us ideas about Wellington. The camping area is a grassy field, no real privacy but good sized sites. There are lots of amenities and all were clean. The kitchen has good space and easy to cook in. Lots of walks around the area. $36/night, 2 people, powered site.
A lovely family park, great amenities and spacious sites. Lovely camp hosts and a quick 4 minute drive to Picton.
Very nice holiday park. Very nice owner, very nice park. Cozy, clean, family bathroom, jumping pillow, pool, playground and all other facilities you need. One of our best stays in NZ. Highly recommended.
A very very nice campsite. All facilities very clean and tidy. The BBQ's were cleaned every day, as was the kitchen.
An old rotten tree had to be cut during our stay. The very polite campsite owner even came over to apologise for the noise. Best stands for mid November is 31 and 64 due to the sun.
Booked this wonderful site, needing somewhere to recharge batteries before catching our ferry.
What a find. It's brilliant. Our hosts Hayley and Nick are absolute sweethearts and nothing is too much trouble. The site is beautifully clean with excellent facilities. Large kitchen and dining room and the all important charging point for mobile devices. The kitchen is open 24/7 which is brilliant for topping hot water bottles up in the night. The disabled facilities are super. Boiling hot showers, a seat and plenty of grab rails, the best ones we've come across so far especially as is all self contained. Lovely courtyard and bbq area outside the kitchen which is a little sun trap. Site has very reasonable laundry facilities, $2 a wash and $4 for dryer. Washing lines available too. Great play area for children and a massive trampoline. Suitable for kids of all ages!!
We had an unpowered site with a tap on it which was perfect. Great picnic benches scattered around too and some natural shade from the trees. Lovely atmosphere on this site very calming and friendly. So very happy to have found it. A big thank you to Hayley and Nick for your welcome. Next time we're in NZ (in the summer!) We'll be back to see you. X
Perfect, clean and fine.
Nice camp ground with different options. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Facilities as kitchen, laundry, bathroom/shower are clean (for free). Camp ground for tents and Camper big enough. We had the free choice of choosing our pitch. Nice playground for kids, swimming pool (cold) and a lot of space anyway. We liked it! Eat your own prepared or in Picton. On Easter Sunday was a Easter Egg Hunt organized by the owners. Nice idea!
We went to every site in Picton and found this was by far the best. No traffic like some of the others and well worth the 5 minute drive to get out of the busy Picton Harbour.
The site is very spacious and surrounded by stunning hillside.
Just 10 minute walk to Waikawa Marina with the Jolly Roger as a good watering hole overlooking the boats.
Parklands was a great place to stay before an early ferry ride. Bathrooms clean and warm. They had untimed hot showers, a hairdryer provided, and even shower curtains between the wet area and the changing area of each shower. Add on many beautiful trees on the grounds, quiet location, short walk to a very nice, scenic marina (with big sting rays swimming near the surface, neat!). Also: big clean kitchen, TV room and billiards table, small swimming pool, and bounce pillow, WOW! AND the nicest person to welcome you, electricity and water, all for $32. Also a dump station. Also native birds, such as the cute Pukeko.
Really nice helpful couple running the place, $34 for 2 adults with power near a marina with a bar and restaurant. Facilities where excellent.
Really great place to stay, clean showers with good pressure and lady in the office was very friendly. Perfect place to stay the night after coming over on the ferry.
Access savings worth hundreds of $$ on Top Ranked NZ Accommodation and Activities for just $1 per day.
Great site. We stayed here twice: going to and coming from the ferry. Pretty quiet place and good facilities. Free showers. Kind managers, trying to make it easy for you.
A bit more expensive but well worth it. Short drive from the ferry. Had a pool and clean showers.
We stayed in this Holiday Park for 2 nights in early December 2016. Very clean and quiet and the owners/managers were friendly, helpful and flexible. The location is just outside Picton, a town which we enjoyed, having negatively prejudged it to be just a ferry crossing town.
It is really good and clean, I recommend this holiday park, I will return.
Clean, very kind owners. Beautiful spot to stay with spacious sites.
Looks a bit basic at first, but a spotless place! Very clean facilities. Nice and friendly staff. Laundry ($2) and dryer ($4) also very clean! 100MB wifi free, or different wifi plans, i.e. 1GB for $5. Can recommend this place!!!
Close to the ferry and open until 10pm. Friendly managers on a large site with many users having boats. Close to the Marina where there are restaurants.
Worth travelling out of Picton for. Loads of kiwis with their boats. Good facilities. BBQ, laundry, washing lines, kitchen, showers and hairdryer. And at $35, good value compared to some.
Nice location, close to the marina, beach, walking and mountain bike tracks. Friendly staff, clean and tidy facilities, good vibe, decent sized pitches and great value.
Stayed at this campsite for one night as we were catching the ferry and was amazed at how inexpensive it was compared to other places - it had a kangaroo jumper (massive trampoline), free pool table in the TV room and a playground for the kids. Free showers and decent toilets. Small beach 5 minutes drive down the road and a restaurant/bar within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!
Great facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would visit again.
David From Switzerland
Very nice camping site, large and green, beautiful surroundings, big kitchen, clean and nice.
Friendly staff, quiet park (we were only short term visitors that night, so all facilities were used only by us). Kitchen and dining room are large and very tidy, washrooms clean. Beautiful scenery in the morning. Rained overnight so site was a little muddy but not a big problem at all. Would have loved to stay here longer, very peaceful spot.
holidaymad from Solihull
Stayed here, on a powered site, after getting off the ferry. Ok for an overnight stop but wouldn't wish for longer. Too far from the town unless you want a good walk.
Facilities were clean.
Stayed in a cabin for one night. We checked in after midnight and there were no problems at all. The host was very accommodating. The cabin was nice, and the facilities were too. Free showers.
Great kitchens and washing facilities, quiet spot, very peaceful, nice having a TV and pool room.
Really helpful staff who could answer my questions about the ferry.
Facilities all okay.
Pitch was grass and as it was pretty wet a hard standing pitch would have been better.
Good for a quick stop.
Less expensive and better equipped and staff were very nice.
$15 per person. Well equipped and not expensive.
Beautiful campground, quiet and cheap.
Pranom & Erhard
Probably the best site we have been to in 3 weeks of travel north and south.
But internet is not free..
Was originally reluctant after seeing a "1" rating on the site, however we booked one night and extended to a week, the owners were very helpful and the park was very quiet and the facilities older than some were spotlessly clean and it is very quiet being off the main road unlike others. Would appear the "1" rating is revenge for being caught trying to sneak in some extra guests without paying, the managers a swiss couple are very friendly and helpful. Would stay again as there sites were the largest we encountered in two trips to NZ with plenty of room.
Good welcome and very clean.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean, big space.
Very tidy and clean, good price. However the owner is rude and offensive. We'll never back there again.
Clean, tidy and unpaid facilities, good campsite.
Well maintained and clean facilities for a very good price $30 unpowered site, swimming pool.
Clean, excellent facilities, friendly owner $15PP.
Free showers, uncrowded sites, lots of trees, only $2 for laundry, lounge tv area, friendly hosts, small site shop, pool - aboveground.

This is in the harbour of Picton, a beautiful harbour with spectacular views.
Very good service, clean, calm, not expensive.
Nice, cheap, next to the harbour, (cafe, restaurants).
We were looking at booking 11 cabins out for a large group, however we were shocked by the attitude of the Camp owner, who we found to be rude and offensive. Save yourself the stress, and stay anywhere else!
Great location, clean and quiet.
tent site O.K, bathroom clean but only 1 shower available kitchen empty (no plate, no fry pan, no cutlery, washing up soap).
Very nice park but too far from Picton to walk. Very unfriendly owners overcharged us and then had a hissy fit when we were late leaving the site.
Good clean facilities, however unfriendly staff.
Good address and well equipped.
Spacious country site. Very well organised and very clean.
