Heaps of fun with interactive things to play with.
Unfortunately some were out of order :(
Would be a great place to take kids.
Adult flying fox is a bit dangerous as I rope burnt my leg on the way down and it immediately came up as a huge bruise on inner thigh *ouch* but other than that its a great place to explore and play.

We had a great time in this eco park, a lot of surprises! Suits adults and children alike.
Original, funny, amazing for adults and children. Good activities when it is sunny.
Excellent activity for young kids - quirky but different.
Great parklike water themed activity centre. Focus on recycling and water and play for young and old. Picnic Places, BBQs supplied, great cafe.
Alternative water fun, had a great time, however too expensive for what it is.
A fantastic day out for all ages (we were from ages 1 to 77!). We have been a few times now and this time was no exception. The kids loved getting the adults wet. The kids loved getting wet. The non-water items were fascinating and were a great opportunity to dry off before the next water attack. Highly recommended for something completely different.

wow - not a theme park, but a time warp. you think you can pop in for an hour or so and 3 hours later you finally escape. many of the displays are in need of maintenance - but this does not detract from the experience
The waterworks is a fantastic place to spend the day! Built by engineering genius's, it's full of mind blowing attractions that are both interesting and interactive for people of all ages. It's set in beautiful native bush with a swimming hole and nice walking paths, and provides a place both for relaxation and excitement. There is also a cafe with delicious food and drinks, as well as a lovely covered patio. I highly reccomend visiting!
I certainly wouldnt have rated this the best theme park in NZ for 2010 or 2011, in fact I wouldnt even say it was a theme park, its a water feature park! The toilets were horrible, in fact we walked in them and straight out again, holding our mouths and noses! It was very expensive for what it was. Paying to swim in a public river, this should never be the case!!!!! Credit to the person who designed the brochure - well done in over selling the park.
Had a wonderful visit with a big group ranging in age from 7 months to 60+. Everyone had a ball. Congratulations on the improvements since we last visited a couple of years ago. The gardens, paths, and new signage really give the place a well cared for look. Verdict from the kids "much better than Disneyland" and there are no queues and you get wet!
Life at waterworks is so great, everything is a new invention. Every attraction is for all people between 3 and 100 yrs. You can even bring your own food for picnic and use the barbeque in the garden, or you can buy it in the Café. They got the best Coffie ever made. GO TRY IT AND HAVE FUN
Visited The Waterworks at Coromandel... what a neat place. Filled with quirky attractions and fun for all the family for hours at a time. Great environment, helpful staff, yummy food at the cafe... A perfect day out at a unique location!

Waterworks was one of my favorite places in New Zealand! You can lose yourself for hours getting your friends wet and marveling at the ingenuity. The staff is super friendly, especially Petunia the giant pig (unless you rub her ears.) I love Coromandel!
It's a really funny place!!! crazy moments with all the activities. If you are in coromandel town, definitely go there. It's a come back to the childhood....
We dithered whether to leave the main road to brave the gravel road to The Waterworks but so pleased we did.
For the first time (in a long time) our 14 year old daughter was suddenly a child again!! Fantastic!
Excellent playground and lots of laughs with the hamster wheel.
This was our 3rd visit and we had a great time. Such a fun day out We will definitely come back next time too. The kids love it! Waterworks is a welcome oasis from the heat in the summertime too.
What a great day out! The kids loved playing with all the weird and wonderful water features and it's really educational and fun for adults too. Really different and original - highly recommended!
If you're in Coromandel definitely set aside some time to come here- It's Awesome!!! Had a fantastic visit, came with my parents and we all became big kids- we laughed a lot!!! Lovely cafe at the end with good food, all in a beautiful part of New Zealand.
WOW !!... I've never seen anything like it :) ... It blew my mind few times, and made me lough all the way through it !!
Definitely worth a visit. You just have to see this for yourself :))

Great fun. The only disappointment was that we didn't have our granddaughter with us to share the experience. Recommended for kids of all ages.
Inventive, lots of fun for young and old.

Was good, but for someone needing a wheelchair, please be aware as they dont always charge the motorised one. Definitely heaps to see and do, great day out for me and my wifey! Highlight for her was the whole fact of getting each other wet. A little annoyed cause they had an amazing water hole but didnt have our togs :(
A great afternoon for the whole family. Our kids are 2 and 4 and while they were too young for some things, they both had a great day. Don't forget your togs (swim suits) as they've got an old school swimming hole that looked like a lot of fun. Good coffee too.
A fantastic day. I didnt really understand what it was from just the leaflets I had seen so wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it, but I loved it. We laughed so much and got soaking wet. Its just like a big playground for adults (and children). Definatly worth the money and definatly worth going whatever your age.
I have so much fun in waterworks!! I'm 35 y. and I laugh like a kid in the flying fox!! beautiful garfdens, amazing pigs, good service and in general, very nice place. I'll come back!!
Went at 3pm until the shop closes at 5.30pm. We kept playing the flying fox and other facilities. Great to come with teens or friends!
We came to the Waterworks on a joint class trip with almost 50 9-10 year olds and 15 parents and adults. The kids had an awesome day - playing, exploring, having fun and taking full advantage of all the wonderful experiences there are to be had at The Waterworks. Jeff was a wonderful host and provided utensils and cranked up the barbie so we could have a lunchtime sausage sizzle. The children loved the ice creams and were all obsessed with the hamster wheel on the playground! We weren't brave enough to go in the watering hole but maybe next time.
I look forward to bringing my overseas visitors to The Waterworks over the summer holidays so that they too can take advantage of a wonderful day out.
Thank you very much !
Great place to take the Family , weird and wonderful creations
Endroit découvert par hasard. Personnel absolument charmant, accueil chaleureux dans un cadre étrange, amusant et souvent surréaliste. A conseiller, surtout avec des enfants ...qui ne voudront plus partir!
A unique park where you can not only stroll and enjoy the gardens and sculptures, but join right in with the fun and have a go at numerous toys and playground equipment designed for adults! Flying foxes, mouse wheel, water cannon, flying bikes, dizzy sticks, all sorts! Great for kids of ALL ages!
Great set up. Had a great time. Recommend this spot to anyone
Great experience! Friendly, beautiful educational environment and delicious food!
I first visited in January - dragging my reluctant 23 year old children in my wake. Trying to get them to leave again was difficult and a return trip was demanded when we returned to the area in April - under the guise of showing it to a friends children. It is a great great place to spend some time - but be warned - you will be there longer than you intend to be.
Although the weather wasn't great we had an awesome time at The Waterworks. The kids really loved it and us adults did too. So many different things to do it was like a journey of discovery, and the staff are brilliant.
Great spot for a picnic and the kids loved the huge playground and lots of interactive activities.
It is a must to visit this place if u are passing through Coromandel. My 2 kids especially, enjoyed themselves. We spent many hours there in December and even had a picnic lunch there by the children's playground. They even provide outdoor barbecue equipment. Lots to see and discover for kids and adults. My kids love all the kiddie contraptions, the hamster wheel for kids, the water cannons, flying bicycles etc. I love the flying fox rides through the trees, and the the amazing water clock. Being from engineering background, I was astounded to see how accurately the rough wooden clockwork contraption kept perfect time.
Wow! what a great place .One can stay all day if you want to .I took my family and and realy had heaps of fun So much to do and to hear the laughter from other visitors Great! and end the the day by a Barbeque and a great coffee in the cafe. The new owners are great hosts,10 out of 10 for me and reccomend to every body young or old
What a kiwi experience, authentic, value for money and a great time was had by all. We arrived early, sat by the swimming hole and let the kids play for hours. There must of been 500 people there when we went in March 08'. Top marks for a brilliant day out.
Amazing - just great for kids but fun for adults too.
Everything propelled by water. Great for kids. You will get wet!
Bridge was closed so the waterfall was closed too.
