Disappointed with the motel unit, with the price charged the standard should be much higher. The paintwork is shabby the furniture in spare room looks like its from op shop. You can hear the people's conversations next door. Basically price demands better standard.

This was our first time at a 'top 10' and have to say we found it very average. It's very expensive for a campsite ($28pppn - this was for a powered site but they had no option for non-powered). It's in a good location (next to the beach and about 10mins to town) and the facilities are very clean. They have quite small sites which are allocated on arrival, so you don't get to choose where you set up. It's not bad but we have stayed in much better campsites for a lot less.

Nice and tidy place with swimming pool but it's very expensive for what you get (28$/pp power site) no place in the fridge, close to the port. Check-in is not very friendly and they ask for credit card even if you stay in your van. You need a card and/or a code to acces the facilities. Not really a good vibe there so if you have other options take them.

Not the cheapest, but a great campground with a nice pool and friendly staff. Will be back 😄

Price:$25,00 p.p for powersite, it's a little bit over priced
Location: very nearby the center, but no noise disturbances
Toilets: are fine
Showers: they are okay but nog always very hot
Kitchen: okay but pretty far from the campsites (we were standing at the far end of the campground
Laundry: there was no dryer, it got repairs
* The got a heated pool but in the winter it is still pretty cold

Freindly greeting and helpful staff. Not that quite as across from the lumbar yard and boats loading. Hot showers. Loads of entertainment and close to walk to town.

They were loading a ship with lumber so you could hear banging on ship all night long not to mention all the lumber trucks rumbling by all night long every 5 minutes. Facilities average at best.

After staying in many free, DOC and family owned sites, this was our first top 10. While everything is immaculately taken care of and facilities were very clean, it was also kind of disappointing. Need a swipe card to get into everything. Doors to kitchen, fridge, freezer, bathrooms, etc. Kitchen had stove and hot plate, but had to bring all your own pots, pans, plates, etc. Tennis courts on site, really cool play area and a swimming pool. Plenty of bathrooms and showers. Camping sites were pretty small. Got 500mb wifi/day. For a childless couple who was just there to shower and sleep, the price didn't seem worth it.

If you want to stay in Gisborne for a night or two, I recommend this place. It's very close to CBD, farmer's market (on Saturdays) and some good walks around the town. Beachfront. The facilities are not new, but clean, and there 's a lot of space for the kids to play. The campsites for campervans and the lot are not so big, your neighbors will be close to you. Free wifi (500 mb pd), free showers and 23 $ pp on a powered site.
You can hear the trucks and some noise from the harbour but it'll slow down at night. Had a good sleep here, nothing to complain. Staff very friendly.

Good campsite. A little bit expensive but there are lots of facilities . Women’s office very smiling and helpful . Unlimited hot shower / wifi limited but enough for 1night.
Close to everything and in front of the sea.

Great site right on the beach. Good clean facilities. 20 minute walk in to the city with shops and restaurants.
Only small gripe was that they put everyone right next door to each other even though the park was empty, asked at the desk and they let us move down to the other end of the park by ourselves.
Liked it here so much we stayed an extra night.
