Great showers and clean kitchen. Fast wifi. Ither than that, not that beautiful camp ground, a road close by and pretty expensive. The water slides cost extra to the extra entry of the hot spring and the kids need to be 8 and older.

Very pricey, especially considering that you have to pay extra for using the hot pools.
A bit on the noisy side near the road.
Booked a camp site and when we arrived there was a bunch of cut grass bags on the site. Also broken beer bottle pieces all over the site. Had to first pick all those up before pitching our tent. The ground is really hard and stoney. Not so nice for tenting.
Facilities are first class. Beautiful unisex bathrooms. Showers 6 minutes with a button on the outside of the shower.
Hot pools were very nice. One has to unfortunately pay extra again to use the slides. Children's area was unfortunately not in working order. Apparently there was something wrong with the pipes. Would have been nice to get a discount for the kids because they could not use the area.

Nice place, but at $58 for two adults they should offer more inclusions. To have the advertised experience you have to pay additional ($11 per head) if you want to use the thermal pools. There's not even a swimming pool available unless you splash out for the 'discounted' water park and spa.
Also overheard a staff member mocking a potential guest who requested a better deal for their stay while I was booking... unprofessional at best.
Facilities were great with heated bathrooms, but again there should not be timers on the showers (limits you to 6 minutes) at that price point. Camp sites are also quite close to the road to Nelson, so there's some traffic noise.
Would recommend finding somewhere better priced and using the beautiful natural spring at the Thermal Park which is free!
Could be a great experience if they sorted out the exorbitant cost... won't be back until they do.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom flat, lots of space, tiny kitchen, pools not included in your booking price so a bit expensive for what you get. Free wifi, hot showers but not well set out with the whole bathroom wet once your finished. Good location 3 min drive from town up a steep hill.

Crooks. Not only it is highly expensive, but you have to pay in addition for the swimming pool (I don’t mean the spa). The woman at the pool was unfriendly and inflexible. Spoiled by tourists, find better places which deserve your money.

Good place to stay and relax. New shower and toilet block. All clean. Hot showers. Music is playing. Kitchen with enough sinks and cooking places. Nice BBQ area outside. Friendly and helpful staff. We didn't use the thermal bath. We stayed 2 nights with our motorhome.

We got the last cabin (school holidays) and we were most disappointed at what we got for the price. Paid $97, we got 1/2 a 2 bed-room cabin. Basically they locked the door between the rooms and passed it off as a separate cabin. Our neighbours got a double bed, microwave and fridge, we got a bunk and a single bed, table and a tiny TV. No sink, no fridge, no cooking facilities or microwave, just barely room enough to swing a cat. Mattresses were foam and very uncomfortable. Just to put it into perspective, the night before at Rotorua we paid the same price for a 2 bedroom cabin, toilet and shower, electric cook-top, fridge, microwave, double bed and bunks. The rest of the facility was first class, cleanest toilets and kitchen I saw in 3 weeks in NZ, you also get $11 off per person nearby at the hot pools.

- great kitchen (clean, spacious, cleaning Material)
- great toilets, very clean, underfloor heating, hairdrier, soap,
- Café at reception
- reception friendly but forgetful
- Discount for thermal pool
- unlimited wifi
- too pricey: 26 ppn, 2nd night 14ppn- not so cool: no price difference between unpowered and powered site

9 because of the price because it's Taupo?!?! The camp ground is nice and a mix out of camper, tents and cabins. The pitches are different sizes and all separated by hedges. The unisex bathroom (toilet/shower) is clean but very crowded. Kitchen is good equipped but we didn't use it. The staff is very professional and friendly. The camp ground is next to a water park with thermal water. You will get discount as a camper. It was nice but crowded also.

It's a good place in Taupo for backpackers if you stay longer than 3 days at the camping ground. The kitchen facilities are good and you can take stuff from the reception. The toilets are clean in comparison to other places.

It was the most expensive campground we stayed at ($80) for 2adults/2 kids). It was very loud from the road, the sides where small and worst of all due to upgrading of the toilets there was just on facility for male and female together with 3 toilets and 3 showers for a large campground and they have been not very clean and the toilet seat was loose. The only good thing was the pool discount. The kids loved it.

The DeBrett spa pools were very nice and enjoyable. The campground was fine but very dense and was the noisiest place we stayed in the entire 4 weeks we were in New Zealand. Upon arriving, they asked us is we would like any spa treatments and when we tried to book something, there was no availability for anything over the next 24 hours - not sure why they asked us and handed us a brochure at check in when they had nothing available - and this was April which is not a peak time of year... A good one time experience but would not ever return to.

We didn't actually see the hot spas but we paid $50 for a powered site which was divided from other sites by hedges, that gave a bit more privacy than at other sites. The amenities were top notch, clean and good showers. We didn't want to unhook the van to go back into town so staff called a taxi for us to go back into Taupo, the site is a bit of a way out of town but we managed to walk back after dinner. A word of warning, the entrance shares driveway with the Sheraton Hilton so we drove past it at first thinking "this can't be our camping ground" but the posh gates are for the resort, all was revealed up the driveway, really nice spot.

We stayed there for one night on 10.02.2016 on a powered site. We were allowed to choose the site, which had a good size and was separated from the surrounding sites by hedges and trees. The kitchen is big enough and clean with barbecue and tables so that you could eat inside in bad weather. The sanitary building needs an update and notices said that it will be updated in 2016. You get a 50% discount for the hot pools, which we liked after a day of hiking.

Expensive ($50 for one night on a powered site) but you do get a discount on their hot springs ($11 per person instead of $22) - private pools were a particularly nice treat and great for adults/couples. Included in entry for the springs. We had a restful nights sleep here, it was good for one night.

All the facilities are great. The campervans are a bit close to each other, but better than a Top 10 we stayed in. The wifi is extremely aggravating as its connection goes in and out, sometimes without the ability to get to their connection page. Paid $100 for two people for two nights with power.

This is a very clean, well run Spa, with absolutely top notch masseurs... in fact my last massage was probably one of the best I have ever had... without a doubt they were the best massages we had in New Zealand in 2 months...
Cannot recommend highly enough...

Clean site next to hot pools. Facilities tired but there is a note to say they will be upgraded!! Wasn't at all busy in Feb and we chose pitch 75 with view across to lake. Bistro restaurant attached to Hilton very good and one can watch the sunset from it - book a window side seat. It is some 4kms from town so u will need to drive or get taxi - $16-17 each way. MUCH cheaper pro-rata if you stay two nights.

Home to the top! Tons of useful info on nice spots in the area ..... The super clean campsite (up alcohol to spray the toilet) shower with hot water from the natural park, so with all its well done . The kitchen and nice TV area, barbecue available for free (because often paying Elsewhere). The snack is good is stocked goods. Access to pools and private boxes for all the family for five days and $50. Near the city center and major road access. I loved it and my kids. If I go back I will stay in the area again this campground.

This place was a great spot to stay, with friendly and helpful staff, neat and tidy sites (ours had a view over Lake Taupo which was an added bonus) and clean facilities although they were a bit dated.
A bit on the pricey side, although the stay 2 pay 1 special on mitigated this.
You have to pay extra to use the mineral pools and waterpark, however as we were staying there we only paid $35 for family entry for 3 days, instead of the usual $20 adult/$ 10 child daily entry. This place was well worth visiting, soaking in the mineral pools was a perfect way to end a day of exploring the region.

We travelled to taupo to have 3 days away after doing a bit of research decided on De Bretts, for us it was a very disappointing experience. The staff are very friendly, the accommodation was very below standard. The motel unit was very cold the heating insufficient and the bedding was not enough to stay warm all night. And we are only in June. Over all very disappointing.
