Trip with kids:
One of the best payed stays. Simply because the kitchen and dining room is next to a games room. And the playground with trampoline is also next to it.
All facilities nice and clean.
Very very friendly staff!
Pretty expensive with around 68 Dollars (we payed less by Top 10 Membership), but was absolutely worth it!

The reception staff were lovely! Some of the nicest we’ve come across in our 6 week trip. The toilets and showers were clean. The showers all had heated towel rails and infrared heat lamps. The kitchen was quite small for the size of the camp though and it was quite expensive at $52 for a unpowered for two adults, but we were able to do the tongariro crossing from here for an extra $50 dollars each so we paid for the convience.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Thank you for your review, you have to come back and check out our new kitchen and TV lounge

Good place to stay, showers and bathrooms of good quality and clean. Kitchen was OK, maybe a little bit cold (we were in winter anyways). Staff were nice.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Thank you for your review, you have to come back and check out our new kitchen and TV lounge, both with heatpumps, to keep you warm and cosy during winter

I'm not sure why this campervan park is rated as high as it was. Out of all the places we stayed in New Zealand, the staff when we checked in seemed the least friendly compared to anywhere else. The park wasn't very well lit. The bathrooms were nice (warm with good showers) but I didn't feel that it made the dark campground worth it. They also charge quite a premium even when they didn't seem that busy and require 2 night stay. I would probably move on unless you absolutely must stay here for skiing in the winter.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
It is always a fine line between being to dark or to bright, we have installed more solar sensor lights and LED lighting. Winter is our peak season and being at a higher altitude, cost for power is high

Quite expensive, but a top class site. Facilities best I have ever seen, if you want luxury. Showers are press button (free), but you get plenty of time and there is a heated towel rail, and a heated cubicle as well as hot water. there are the usual kitchen/dining area and lounge - with a piano! Indoor and outdoor drying areas. Buses available to the Reserve and walks. Ruapehu visible from the campsite - our first snow sighting in North Island! Reception doubles up as gift shop and information centre. Friendly - honest enough to admit that we could purchase wi-fi, but it doesn't work!
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Thank you for your kind words, sorry that you had trouble with the Wifi, unfortunately we have no fibre in town yet, so this is out of our control

Nice, had problems with internet, staff was kind, bugs in the bathroom
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Unfortunately in summer time, we get a few bugs, due to being next to the stream and bush reserve

The camping area and facilities are all clean and very good, and the staff were friendly. But $45/night for 1 person on a non powered tent site is exorbitant.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
You would have been staying in our peak season, to save on costs the TOP 10 clubcard is a great deal, valid for 2 years and you can use it at 49 other parks in NZ, as well as getting discounts on the ferry, train journeys, restaurants and activities.

To rejuvenate after the Tongariro. Top 10 is nice and well equipped as almost all top 10 elsewhere. The showers are actually super nice with wooden decor. The common rooms like my kitchen and the lounge is nice.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Thank you for taking the time to place feedback on our property. Yes the Tongariro Alpine Crossing definitely is hard work, but our Park is the perfect place to relax. We hope we can welcome you again in the future.

Great holiday park! Stayed there for 1 night on a non-powered site, $21 per person. Excellent and clean facilities including kitchen, dining room, TV room, games room, laundry ($3 per machine) and drying room which came in really handy as we had just returned wet and soaked from the Whanganui Journey. Shower and toilet block was newly renovated with heated towel rails, heat lamps in all shower cubicles, and hair dryers. WiFi & spa bath for additional costs. Definitely to recommend despite the higher price.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Thank you for the fantastic feedback Janin. We are glad you enjoyed your time her in Ohakune and hope to see you again soon. To save on costs we do offer a TOP 10 clubcard which gives you savings at 50 TOP 10 Parks all over NZ and additional discounts at restaurants, cafes and activities.

The best shower and toilet facilities we saw this holiday in winter. Campsite is close to the Village, so if you want to go out eating, just walk out of the entrance of the holiday park.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Our communal bathrooms are a favourite with all of our guests!! We glad you enjoyed your time here and thanks for placing feedback.

Fairly small campsite with excellent facilities. Best bathrooms we have found with heaters and heated towel rails in each shower cubicle! Only bad thing was having to pay extra 7 dollars for wifi.
Ohakune TOP 10 Holiday Park responds:
Hi Stephanie, thank you for your feedback. We are now offering up to 500mb per day for free , as we are situated in a small rural village,we do not have fibre available and additional WIFI is provided by a nationwide company and pricing is in line with their charges.

Very cramped site - vans all squashed in together, both end to end and side by side; however this site has the best showers in NZ. Other facilities all good as well.

After being detained by mechanical problems on the Desert Road, we arrived in Oakune after dark. At 3degrees frost the previous morning, we stayed in a self-contained unit. $109/night. Brilliant! Very clean, compact, electric panel heater and electric blankets on the bed ensured a snug, warm night's sleep. Brilliant!
