Great, quiet, clean place on agreat beach.
מקום מצוין עם חוף נהדר. לא הכי קרוב לאוקלנד אבל יש אפשרות לנסוע לעיר במרחק 30קמ ומשם ברכבת לאוקלנד. יום טיול.

A beautiful place, ideal to stay with arrival or departure from Auckland. Very nice owners, friendly and with the right sense of humour. Bathrooms are not new, but very clean. No extra cost for hot water. A small indoor pool is ideal for swimming.

A small but clean and friendly park. Good place to tidy up a van before departing NZ. Dump station onsite and a spot in the kitchen to donate left over supplies. Lounge area has a book swap, TV and table tennis. Petrol available nearby. Facilities clean and showers nice and hot.

Well maintained and clean site in every aspect. Great beach. Even a place to clean fish for those who go go fishing in the bay. If you need some rest before returning your campervan in Auckland this is the place to go. Friendly staff, always helpful when information and sightseeing recommendation is required (thx Ferdi!). Don't miss Manukau Heads Lighthouse and the peninsula!

There is also a lovely vineyard up the Awhitu peninsula that you can visit and do some wine tasting. thank you for your positive review.

We paid 44 for a powered site for our camper van in early January. We chose this particular place because a few others closer to Auckland were already booked, and here they answered the phone! We were very pleased with this find for our first night in NZ. The location is lovely, with some very nice facilities (including a pool), obviously a family-friendly place as many Kiwis were having a fun holiday weekend. There are views of the water from some spots on this site. Pretty friendly. There is a great takeaways shop a short drive away.

Clarks Beach Holiday Park responds:

Up the road by the fish and chip shop there is also a cafe and a lovely restaurant for those that would like a night off cooking on their last night. They do have Monday and Tuesdays off though. Thank you for the positive review.

Many permanent campers, clean sanitary building and kitchen. Women's showers definitely need an update.

Reviewed over 3 years ago

Clarks Beach Holiday Park responds:

Our permanent campers don't live here, they have a holiday camper or unit to be used for holiday purposes.
We have just upgraded the women's showers a few months ago. They are now running on gas and have good pressure. We also took out the old panels and shower heads and put some new ones in the shower cubicles.
We have now put in new toilets for the Men's and Women's shower block.

We spent one night here at the end of December and had a small space for our van, powered for two cost us $42. The location is great but there is nothing around, no shops, no restaurants in walking distance. But we didn't have to pay for the shower and it was good and hot. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

Nice spot, the staff are very helpful and friendly, a lot of space, only one negative point was that the female showers are not very good.

There are some bad reviews about this Holiday Park's managers/owners however it is under new management now and there are NO cameras in the toilet/showers. The new owner Suzannah said that the first thing they did was to remove them and she was pleasant and helpful. The amenities are clean and functional but the park as a whole could do with a touch of modernisation. We only stayed for 1 night but it was the most expensive paid park we stayed at during our 9 day central North Island tour and it was the only one where we had to pay to have a shower and the meters seemed to give mixed results. The Clarks Beach area is beautiful, just wish we had more time and my boat to go fishing there.

Reviewed almost 4 years ago

Clarks Beach Holiday Park responds:

On consultation with other parks in the Auckland /Franklin district our prices are the same or lower.
As new owners we are aware of the need for modernisation and we have begun to work on this. All suggestions are appreciated.
2018 the showers are now part of the fees to stay so no extra payments required anymore.

A unique location close to Airport & Auckland City yet in a peaceful rural & beach setting. A well run camp with adequate well maintained facilities and a number of leisure facilities. Friendly but firm hosts ensure an inviting & secure environment. A short drive through scenic rural settings to a number of provincial NZ towns provide opportunities for varied dining & shopping. We have stayed there a number of times, have always found the campground and cabins well presented and Mark & Ferdie wonderful hosts.

Lovely beach, camping ground is excellent but it is just a shame that the owner of the lease has not got better people skills his ability to communicate with people is sadly lacking and his respect for campers privacy by having a camera in the men's toilet facility is appauling and is possibly illegal, even though it is claimed to be a dummy. Management is very controlling and dictatorial and puts campers off. Area excellent, facilities excellent, so close to Auckland so convenient a very pleasant place to stay except for management attitude.

Clarks Beach Holiday Park responds:

We have taken over from the previous owner and our motto is friendliness and cleanliness. there are no longer any camera's real or fake in any of the shower , toilet block area.

We spent 1 week camping at Clarks Beach from 4th Jan. Our overall experience was great. Facilities were clean & tidy, everything worked & there were a number of options for entertainment - pool, playground, games room & kayaks & bikes were also advertised. Park was quite full but did not feel overly crowded and there was a really nice family atmosphere about the place. Unsure if it was the owner or manager, but the guys we spoke to were very helpful with questions that we had. We will certainly come back.

Clarks Beach itself is lovely but is ruined by this holiday park that has terrible amentities, the showers don't work properly and theres cameras in the bathrooms which I think is disgusting and possibly illegal. The ovens in the kitchen barely work and the washing machines and dryers hardly work either, you end up having to do everything twice costing you even more. As for the owner, he is just a money hungry disgusting person, extremely rude, appauling customer service skills and in no way helpful at all, also his park rules and website contridict themselves, nothing is clear and it's your own fault if something does not work properly. Definitely would not recommend to anyone an would definitely suggest staying elsewhere!!!

Clarks Beach Holiday Park responds:

We have taken over 2 and half years now, and have made a fair few changes. It will take awhile to change the historical view of the place, but do come back and visit there are new people in charge and a new attitude.

For the amount that we paid, the amenities were very basic. No DVD player in the unit as well as the TV/Gaming room, at times we had no gas and no hot water.

The customer service is appalling, at times a touch arrogant, extremely cold and borderline discriminatory/racist. Very RUDE!!!

Will definitely not recommend to anyone. DISGRACEFUL!!!

Bought the family out to this lovely place for the weekend. Have been to many camp grounds but have found this an absolute pleasure. The staff were very helpful and friendly and sat with us to watch the big game. My wife felt the pink in the women's bathroom was a lovely touch as did our daughters. Definitely worth the 20 minute drive to this secluded wonderful place. Will be coming back thank you

This place really is Paradise as stated on the brochure. From the amazing walks along the stunning beach and fishing to pool in the upstairs tv room. This place is so pretty and has to be one of the cleanest camps I have been to in ages. And as for the staff they are amazing. Sky in the hall and given fresh cooked spring rolls on the Saturday night and hot scones on Sunday morning. So coming back. Thanks Mark, Evette, and Ferdi

A perfectly ruined weekend thanks to incompetent people and rude people. Even if you have a specific check in time and people arrive before that there's no reason to be rude about it. I don't see the problem about checking in a little earlier anyway if you have no business and its not peak season yet. Won't be going back thank you and won't be recommending to anyone..
