Welcome to New Zealand's most comprehensive database of freely available camping information. This is the only travel map of its kind in NZ.

Kauri Coast Top 10 Holiday Park is Northland's premier west coast holiday park and is set on two idyllic hectares of parkland, surrounded by native bush with river boundaries on two sides.

This is the perfect Northland accommodation base from which to enjoy our spectacular kauri forests, and all the other great sights and sounds of the magnificent Kauri Coast. We are just 5km away from Trounson Kauri Park and 30km to the Waipoua Forest, home of legendary Tane Mahuta – the giant of the forest.

Kauri Coast Top 10 Holiday Park is the ideal weekend getaway, stop-off point on your tour of Northland or as a relaxing holiday destination. The drive north from Auckland takes 2.5 hours and the town of Dargaville is only a 25 minute drive away.

Spend your Kauri Coast holiday relaxing and having fun in our piece of paradise. Tube down the river or swim in our swimming holes. Basketball, petanque and table tennis are on offer, with free hire on all sporting equipment. There is a well equiped playground for children of all ages, and a flying fox for those who like a bit of excitement. Go for a bush walk, visit the nearby Trounson Kauri Park, take a short drive to the Kai Iwi Lakes or visit the mighty Waipoua Forest.

Enjoy our fantastic covered outdoor kitchen, three BBQ areas or great indoor cooking facilities.

Listen for the sound of the kiwi - join our unique Guided Night Walk which leaves from the Park, and let us introduce you to the nighttime sights and sounds of the Northland forest. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL.

One of the most beautiful campsites I've stayed at. Amazing gardens, glow worms and the chance to spot a kiwi down the road. They even let us borrow a high power red torch to spot the kiwis. Can not recommend enough!

Gorgeous camp in bush surrounded on all sides by streams. We were here in winter but you can picture how amazing it would be floating along the river in summer. Great communal kitchen lounge and log fire to warm us while watching rugby with other campers. Trounson Kauri Park nearly to visit and do 40 minute easy walk to see giant kauri. At night feed the eels and see the glowworms at the camp. You can walk yourself in Trounsen forest to see kiwi. Need infrared torch.

Incredible spot! Tracey who welcomed us on made us immediately feel at home, the entire camp ground is spotless with lots to keep you entertained from a flying fox to a mean as eel spotting location on the creek. Dog friendly (with permission), full kitchen including ovens you can use and a laundry! Loved it so much and can’t wait to come back

We cannot recommend this place enough! The campsite is in a beautiful location in a forested valley with (swimmable/tubable) rivers on 3 sides. The facilities are clean and well maintained and there is a great range of activities to keep the kids (and adults) busy, even for the water shy (trampolines, playground, ping pong, games and more). The nightwalk is very exciting even if you don’t see a Kiwi bird, Chris will guide you safely and competently through the forest! Both him and Jane were lovely hosts who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. 12/10

Lovely campsite surrounded by water. Owners and staff friendly and helpful. Facilities are good and clean but due to construction costs they can’t expand them so they are busy. Very convenient for the kauri forests. Good for kids. Tubing, swimming, play park and tractor rides.

Came here in preference to the DOC site up the road. Only a little more expensive here with much better facilities.

This was a beautiful site with lovely facilities for cooking & sitting. Love how NZ camps provide tea towels, washing up liquid etc. compared to the UK. Great access to Trounson Park to see the Kauri trees. Spacious sites.

Got to be the smartest site we have been to in a month. Everything was hyper clean and tidy.
Very peaceful. We parked up beside the very pretty stream and had the whole field to ourselves. Would certainly go back. $44 for two adults unpowered.

VERY nice Holiday Park. The kitchen and bathrooms are all in great shape and are very well maintained. You can tell the owners really care about keeping customers happy. We stayed in a cabin on an unusually hot evening in April and the owners offered us a stand up fan to use, which made it so much better! We also did the nature walk which was really great! We didn't see any kiwi, but we did hear several of their mating calls. It was very informative and interesting. Highly recommend this place!
