The sand dunes are gorgeous. We were so impressed of this natural wonder. You do not have to hire a sandboard as well, it is as much fun if you hike the dunes.

One of the most surprising landscapes you can find in New Zealand. You can walk for hours in the middle of this desert landscape, until you reach a beautiful beach. You can also rent a board and sledge on the dunes.

Most fantastic walk of our trip in the North Island. You can only go at low tide. But what an experience!! Takes 2-3 hours in total and don't forget to run down the dunes!

Several dunes dominate the end of Ninety Mile Beach. Heat and scenery bring you to another place. Africa or New Zealand?
