This is an amazing place. Do not listen to the reviews from several years ago- they are no longer relevant. Since the renovation this is an up-market and authentic spa experience.

The spas are the best we have used in New Zealand, comparable to the Polynesian Spa in Rotorua.

Self-contained camping spaces are spacious enough, not entirely private but well worth it for the scenery and the pools.

Highly recommended.

The description for this place needs updating. Since the new owners took over a few years ago, the springs has become a bit of a resort with camp sites, lodges and cabins. We thought it was an awesome hidden gem. The hot pools are not huge but it was spacious enough when we were there and the scenery is very beautiful. There's also great saunas and a cold plunge pool. The restaurant was great too.

A bit overpriced (due to renovation works) and sandflies around the location and the views are gorgeous and the new rock pools are very well done! The interior is a bit out of date.

The pools are really small and we did not enjoy the smell and all the people walking by.

Would have been perfect if it were not for the sandflies. All in all never experienced anything like it! IT IS A MUST.

Average hot pool experience, seemed expensive for only two 'hot' pools and a bathhouse. Didn't particularly like the algae in the water and the mens changing room wasn't clean - big pool of water(?) on the toilet floor. Friendly staff. Wouldn't go again.
