Te Pō is Te Puia's evening version, and it's a solid pick for a Rotorua night out. The Rankers code gets you 10% off, which helps given this isn't the cheapest cultural experience in town. Worth knowing going in that it's a touristy operation and the group sizes can be large, sometimes well over 100 people. But most travellers seem to make peace with that fairly quickly once things get going.
The hangi buffet is consistently one of the most praised parts of the night, and the concert draws good marks too. The geothermal valley tour can feel a bit rushed, and a couple of reviewers noted that guide quality varies, so if you're keen on the history and ecology side of things, be ready to ask questions. The night caps off back at the geyser terrace with a hot chocolate, which genuinely sounds like a nice way to end it.
The Maori Arts and Crafts Institute is on site too, which adds some real substance to the evening. It's touristy, yes, but it's Maori owned and the proceeds go back into the facility and the crafts institute. For a single evening that covers culture, food, and geothermal in one go, it does the job well.

We booked a tour and evening programme with dinner (buffet).
The tour was nice, very big geyser! The evening show was cool and the dinner amazing! Traditional cooked. After dinner we went back to the geyser. There, we got hot chocolate and we could see the geyser and stars!

We enjoyed the performance of Maori song and dance and appreciated being taught the Poi dance, but overall we felt like a herd of cattle being pushed through the evening.
Food was okay. Did not get to see the geyser go off but preferred not seeing it as opposed to it being forced to erupt by pouring soap in to it.

Extremely overpriced for what is included. Seems extremely disorganised. Would not recommend.

Maori concert in evenin and meal. Very enjoyable with meal cooked in a hangi. Concert entertaining and well explained and performed.

That said, it felt fairly authentic and because it is Maori owned, proceeds go to the facility. The weaver and carver craft institute was wonderful, keeping the traditional crafts alive. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the meal was. The performance was also very good. Our only disappointment was that our young guide through the geyser area was not as well informed as he could have been about Maori history and native flora/fauna, although in his defense we did ask pretty in-depth questions. Perhaps an older guide might know more. That said, he was very engaging. We would highly recommend this experience if you have only limited time in Rotorua as we did.

Bubbling mud village was really cool, guide gave us tour and history, saw haka and got a real insight into Maori culture.
We had a free walk around as well.

We gave $138 per adult - that was expensive, the guided tour through the park was too quick but we saw the geyser.

A bit odd because the setting is very modern, but the dancing and food was great and we got to see a geyser explode. It is a large group though - maybe 100+ people.

A fun evening but the out of town thermal parks are more impressive.
The Maori and cultural experience is good in its own right, though poor food for vegetarians.
