We had no hassles with our vehicle and all communications with staff were friendly and efficient. Thanks Kia Ora. Would definitely hire from them again.
We had a superb experience with Kia Ora campers. A clean and reliable 2-berth campervan, and with Vicky and Steve ready and able to respond promptly and efficiently to the occasional query we had about aspects of our campervan experience with them. We were delighted that they matched the price of our rental with that of a lower offer we had received from another company. It's a pity that while COVID-19 impacts on lack of tourists New Zealand, their fleet is solely S.Island based.
We think this company is not very professional. Friendly in the beginning, but when there is a problem we didn’t experience much support. The airco didn’t work, so we had to find a garage ourselves which we gave up finally. The company has no network of garages all over the country. I can understand that this small company, managed by a couple, is not able to, but it is a disadvantage for sure.
But the reason we will never will choose this company again is another one. We were told by mail being home again, that there was stench in the van being caused by smoking and/or parking beneath logfire, which was definitely not true. We are non smokers and don’t like logfire. But they had already taken 300 NZD from our credit card for cleaning the van. which I reported at ICS, They had to return the money, which they did.
We know for sure the smell was caused by the not proper working airsystem. But anyway: getting a mail after returning home again in which we were treated like dirty schoolchildren was very offending.
Next time we will choose another, bigger, company
Kia Ora Campers responds:
Thanks Anonymous . You told me that they had a great time and didn't have any issues .They got a large chip in the windscreen we had to replace it before getting a certification without them paying for it .
We have a huge network of garages and don't know why they would even mention that .
On return of the camper , it was left in a appalling state and a smell that we struggled to get rid of even using commercial cleaners with no avail. This did not come from the air con unit and works perfectly .
regarding the comment on next time choosing a larger company they would not have get away with the leaving the campervan in that state
regards Kiaora campers .
Kia Ora Campers were excellent to deal with. Very easy to contact and very friendly. The van was a new model and in great condition and working order. Picking up and dropping off the van was simple and quick. I highly recommend this company and I would definitely use them again.
We planned a much anticipated 3 week trip around the South Island and after much time researching other campervan companies, we decided to book with Kia Ora Campers, mostly due to the very positive reviews. From the time Steve picked us up from our hotel to the very hasty vehicle return (due to the impending Covid19 lockdown), we were not disappointed. We hired the 3 berth Mercedes Nomad which we found to be really comfortable; it has all the daily essentials you need in a campervan and is very easy to drive around and manoeuvre when parking in town. Great to have the BBQ and table and chairs...on those beautiful sunny days, nothing better than sitting outside and enjoying magnificent views of lakes and mountains! Even during a very chilly 3degrees overnight stay in Arthur’s Pass National Park, we were comfortably warm throughout the night. On the odd occasion we needed to ask Steve a question, he was always available and happy to take our call...great customer service. If we plan a trip around the North Island in the future, we will not hesitate to book again with Kia Ora Campers. Would highly recommend for their quality vehicle and amazing service.
Thanks again Steve and Vicky.
Great company..excellent customer service.
Vicky and Steve were really easy to deal with and were very helpful.
Steve and Vicky from Kia Ora Campers are just awesome!
They took a lot of time to get us accustomed to our camper, which was in excellent condition, with 0 waiting time for pickup. Also they supported us superbly upfront and during our stay in NZ.
We hired from Steve and Vicky at Kia Ora Campers for a three week trip in 2020 coming over from UK.
Correspondence was easy as was the interaction between us and Steve discussing prices and he matched the best price we had as well as including camping chairs, table and BBQ.
Easy pick up and Steve explained things to us as well as showing us the instructional videos. We had hired in UK before so a.good reminder, if you have not hired a campervan before it is best to view these a few times before setting out as there is a procedure to follow and a lot of info at one time.
We hired a 4 berth campervan with lots of space and it paid off for us to enjoy views from the large.picture window in rear, indeed this was our favourite sitting position at campsites and viewpoints for a coffee.
The campervan was relatively easy to drive but it was large to park up in some car parks. We had a problem with leisure battery which had just been changed but this was sorted by the engineer who explained that a safety cut off was set too high and no problem after this (Thanks Steve for prompt response and repair)
Found Steve and Vicky really good to deal with, the van was clean and in good repair, they gave us their good advice and even ran us to airport himself. Thanks Steve and Vicky.
