Discover this island sanctuary - a conservation success story - now home to flourishing native flora and fauna including many endangered New Zealand bird species.
This pest-free island provides a safe haven for a wide range of native species including kōkako, takahē, tīeke and more. Support the ongoing conservation of the island by purchasing a guided walk and your experienced guide will help you spot the native species and share more about the island’s ongoing transformation.
Alternatively you can explore the island independently via established walking tracks with dramatic cliff tops, native bush and quiet beaches to discover. Step back in time as you walk through regenerating forest and hear the call of birds no longer present on the mainland.
