Fantastic rural riverside camp.
Yes gravel road and therefore maybe not suitable as a base for day trips (?) but if you want a peaceful time or a a couple of nights out from touring look no further. Clean facilities and a lot of thought put into them. Must book online. Generous check out so did a small early morning walk before breakfast and leaving. Note other activities/cafe at certain times. No dump station

Stayed 24/12/24.
$54 for an unpowered campsite for the night.
Accessible only via a long gravel road.
Riverside location means there are biting bugs in the grass!!
A selection of fancy soaps provided in the bathroom.
Kitchen very well outfitted.
Beautiful setting with lots of local fishermen staying.
Extremely strong water pressure in the showers!

Amazing campground, but indeed as the other reviews already state: steep hill and gravel road to get there.
No problem with big camperbus! No other campers on a quiete Tuesday night in November; amazing river and at night: stars everywhere! Good hot showers.

And beware of the very steep road just before the farm.
Otherwise it's a beautiful spot. Everything is quite neat and lovely.

Superb site.
Level and very well maintained pitches. Clean facilities including hot showers and great size kitchen area. Quiet and calm in a beautiful riverside location. The only down side was the longish road to the site. Worth it though

Well worth the gravel road for 15minutes.
Outstanding river and mountain views. Peaceful refresh from the road. Unmetered warm showers. Owners very helpful and caring. Take all your food. Can order pizza sometimes. Camp kitchens lovely, clean and spacious. Will be back when over this way again thankyou.

Beautiful campsite.
Camp Kitchen and Showers/Toilets are well-maintained and clean. Great nature surrounds the campsite.
The only reason I don't give this campsite a 10/10 is because of the poor state of the road to reach MRF.

Really lovely place, quite and some free and paid for things to do on the farm.
Facilities were great. Only 9 for me because it was full of families who weren’t that friendly and had noisy kids. Otherwise perfect. Bring all your food with you, though the Saturday pizzas were super tempting

Great campsite - well worth a visit.
Combines stunning natural setting with good facilities. Lovely open (but covered) kitchen and barbecuing area. Laundry facilities (free washer, NZ$2 coin for dryer). Very clean. Nice hot showers in shower/toilet block. Free wifi. Very friendly and helpful owners. Other activities to do (e.g. horse trekking, etc.). Walks and biking routes around this working farm too. Access via gravel road off SH5. 10/10.

Gorgeous setting, got a spot overlooking the stream between two rolling hills.
Horse rides available to tour the farm and forestry in the region, absolute highlight of the trip! Bathrooms old but in good repair; kitchen was newer, open sided with dining space and looked really nice though we didn't end up needing to use it. A-shaped Chateaus were very tidy, if you're so tempted.
Cellphone reception very patchy, though free wifi is offered to help out there if you need it. Staff were excellent and very helpful.
Really only the biggest downside was the bumpy ~10min of gravel road once you left the highway, but not a biggie if you know how to drive gravel, and the site was well worth it. We're looking forward to using it again!
