We got a private tour (only $40 more than the group tour) learning a lot about Punakaiki Valley while riding through its wildlife with multiple river crossings. Very friendly guides taking into account the ability of every rider individually. Great break at their remote hut.

I have done a few horse treks but this would have to be the best of them. Neil set us up with just the right horses for each of our abilities and then we went on a tour that covered beaches, river crossings, rainforest and some amazing limestone escarpments. It is near the Pancake Rocks so you can do both at the same time. Trip was a good value price as well.

Punakaiki is a reaaly amazing place (the whole West Coast of the South Island is!) and the horse trek takes you right into the bush. We rode along a beach, crossed a river a few times and into the rainforest. The horses were well behaved and knew what they were doing. I've done a few treks before and this was one of the better ones

Amazing 2.5 hour trek with a fabulous guide. The horse was lovely and the vistas stunning.

Really good! Quite expensive, comparatively - but for me it was quite good value for money.
