Perfectly fine for a free place. Even though it is out of the way, it went well with our timing as we visited Hokitika gorge right before dark. The lot is pretty small so probably would only comfortably fit about 6 campervans. The lot itself is just gravel, but surrounded by peaceful farmland. Bathrooms looked brand new and very clean. Flush toilets, sinks, and hand wash were much appreciated!
Location: is okay. It is on a parking next to a small bar. It’s perfect for one night
Wc’s: very clean!
GERARD & AXELLES

there are good rubbish bins.
nice and quiet rural area.
alpacas on the grass next to to parking.

20min drive from the beautiful little walk in hokitika gorge.
be quick! parking was full at 6:30pm.
Great little site. Good toilets which were unfortunately manly when we w arrived having been abused by some inconsiderate idiots, however a call to the council had them cleaned up within a couple of hours. Very impressive. Grass area for tents , gravel for motor homes/ caravans. Two nights max stay here, no charge.
People who own the pub/ cage next door have granted the use of this land for freedom camping. Support them if they are open, they are great people. They also offer showers at $5 and you can negotiate to stay longer on their grass area behind the pub.
