Booking Terms and Conditions

Prior to making a booking, you should read the Rankers Booking Terms & Conditions.

1.) Price and Availability

Price and availability are subject to change due to specials and the flex rate system. Your booking and deposits will not be processed until the vehicle is confirmed as available at the quoted price, at which point the customer is responsible for cancellation costs by both Rankers and the operator of the vehicle. Booking requests are always subject to availability which is constantly changing. In case the quoted price is not available anymore, our Rankers Booking Team will get in touch with you and send you an updated quote with the new pricing. Once the deposit arrangements have been made, Rankers will then confirm the reservation and send you the confirmation details such as pick up point and contact phone numbers, etc.

2.) Deposit & Final Payment

A non-refunable deposit* of 20% is due on booking confirmation to secure your booking and will be charged to your credit card. (see also 5.)
The final payment of your booking is normally due 35 days prior to vehicle collection. However in some cases the final payment might be due up tp 65 days prior (depending on the operator you choose).

Final payments can either be made by bank transfer to our NZ account or via www.wise.com (formerly known as TransferWise).
For both, Deposit Payment as well as Final Payment, Rankers is not responsible for any International Bank Fees your credit card company, bank or wise.com may impose.

Rankers reserves the right to cancel your booking with the rental operator if the final payment is not received in time.

3.) Amendments

Rankers will not charge administration fee’s to make amendments to pick up and drop off dates however the campervan rental company may have price variances that will apply and must be paid by the customer, extensions may require the deposit amount to be increased. Reduction in rental periods may reduce the total of the rental but the deposit will remain unchanged. When reducing the rental period or changing insurance package, the difference in deposit amounts required will not be refunded.

4.) Operators Terms & Conditions

A variety of campervan and motorhome operators use Rankers as a supplier. Each of these operators have their own Terms and Conditions that you need to understand and accept before proceeding with your booking. We make every effort to keep this information up-to-date on our website, however we cannot guarantee that the Terms and Conditions are not modified by the operators, as they reserve the right to do so at any time. Please let us know if you have any trouble accessing the current T&C's of the operator and we will send you the correct link.

5.) Cancellation Policy

By booking with Rankers you are agreeing to abide by the cancellation policies of both Rankers and the vehicle operators. It is important you know and understand the cancellation policies of the operator you wish to book with. The operators T&C's are pointed out during the booking process via Rankers direct booking. Some operators will charge for cancellations made less than 90 days from the pick up date and can cost you over and above your deposit amount. Let us know if you need clarity on this?

*If COVID-19 restrictions prevent you from collecting your booked vehilce, Rankers will turn your non-refundable deposit into a credit note to the value of money received. Rankers Credit Notes will be valid for further use until 31st March 2023.

Please note: Cancellations or amendments must be made strictly in writing via email to nzlocals@rankers.co.nz

It is highly recommended by Rankers that travellers purchase Travel Insurance to protect themselves during, and prior to their journey. Some Travel insurance can mean that you are covered in the event of needing to cancel your bookings as a result of illness etc.

6.) Credit Card Fee/Bank Fee

When booking with Rankers, a deposit of 20% will be charged to your credit card. Rankers will not charge you any additional fees on the deposit payments.

7.) COVID-19 Information

Before booking with Rankers please review all government guidance and possible travel restrictions at www.covid19.govt.nz/travel-and-the-border/travel-to-new-zealand.
The pandemic situation can change quickly and border restrictions could change at any time and with short notice and might affect your travel plans.
