Beautiful day, wonderful company, magic location.
Made all the better by Don and his assistant. Don able to expertly read group dynamics. Quiet but assured manner and vast knowledge of the mountain made for a safe but challenging experience. Will use again and recommend 100%

I climbed up Mt Taranaki at the end of winter.
The weather was terrible that day. It was extremely bad conditions. But I was willing to achieve it anyway and despite a lack of mountaineering experience Don guided me safely towards the summit. There was no view whatsoever all along the ascent but I loved the experience of facing difficulties. The visibility was about 15 m, sometimes less, for 1000 vertical meters ! But Don found the right way. Just what I needed !

I had a very enjoyable day on Mt Taranaki and Don was an excellent guide who was good company.
I had already done some mountaineering and am quite experienced so Don suggested a more interesting route than the standard route. I could tell that had I been less experienced, he would also have been a very sound teacher.

What an adventure!
I've just had my 5th climb on Mt Taranaki with Don and I'll be back again for sure next year. I felt totally safe thanks to Don's professional service, but still pushed beyond what I thought I could achieve. I keep coming back each year to try something more challenging than the year before. I'd thoroughly recommend climbing Mt Taranaki with Don to anyone who's wanted to give it a try but not sure if you could do it.

What an awesome experience!
Im a novice climber and Mt Taranaki was my first big climb using equipment on snow and ice. Don Paterson made me feel safe and comfortable at all times. We always worked within my limits and I even got to the summit - WOW! You must check this experience out. I'm still bragging about it!!
