North Head - Devonport. We visited this place with friends and loved it. Back in WW2 the New Zealand army built some tunnels on North Head which are still intact. - bring a torch and a camera for some action shots. Plus we watched another family slide down the steep hill on a cardboard box. Looked like fun.

John gave us a perfect day out and a first time sailing experience, not to be forgotten. We sailed out of Auckland harbour over to Rangitoto, launched the dinghy and paddled to shore, then continued the day by walking to the summit of this interesting volcanic island. John's knowledge of the island, professionalism on board and attention to detail generated overall confidence, while at the same time ensured good light hearted fun in a relaxed atmosphere. A steady supply of snacks and drinks added to the experience. Our day sailing with John will go down as one of the main highlights of our New Zealand holiday.

Had a wonderful four day trip from Whangaroa to Bay of Islands to Great Barrier and on to Auckland. Caught fish, kayaked , swam, helped sail after a little tuition,
ate and drank well. All in all a great time with a very professional but relaxed crew.

The world is still rocking pleasantly though we have been back on land for a whole day. We had 4 fabulous days sailing from the Bay of Islands to Great Barrier & back to Auckland. We had it all. Sunny & calm through to stormy with waves crashing right over the decks. We have sailed with John before in the Hauraki Gulf & for two weeks in Turkey & it is always a pleasure. I have every confidence in him as skipper & recommend J G Sailing Adventures wholeheartedly to anyone thinking of going out for a sail.

An absolutely perfect day. Sunshine, good food, good company. A chance to relax completely and do exactly what we wanted. I especially loved that it was possible to change itinerary at the last moment - go to Waiheke, eat a wonderful meal and then sail home under the stars. Thanks to John and Ginny, truly a day to remember. If I could rank the experience higher than 10, I would!

A fantastic experience. A beautiful yacht with wonderful hosts in John & Ginny. Gentle sail up the inner harbour on a a lovely summer's day. Good wine, delicious lunch an excellent sailing. Next time - hope we have time to kayak ashore and explore the coast.

My 'sea-man' skills will improve with practise and looking forward to steering (as long as we are in wide open ocean) and having a lesson hoisting the sails.

Thanks John & Ginny - an experience not to be missed. It is something you will remember for the rest of your life.

Organised a group of friends for 5 days sailing in the Hauraki Gulf aboard Justice in the beginning of 2009. 3 of them had no sailing experience whatsoever. An awesome trip, the weather was kind, the meals were exceptional and every day was full of hilarity. Our evenings were mildly lubricated to the point of continuous laughter when ones sides are really hurting. It is then that you realize we never laugh enough and it is so therapeutic. The skipper is an amazing host and I believe you could put 6 or 7 complete strangers on board and John would have them interacting so well so fast they would be best mates within a few hours - a sign of his skills as host.
As a skipper he would be one of the best I have saied with. Good enough to put my life in his hands when I helped crew Justice from Fiji to Auckland. Cool, calm and very collected.
Around the Gulf he knows all the nooks and crannies, the history the peace and quiet and where to find it.
I will be back, thats for sure - if he will have me ?

WHAT a way to welcome in the new year singing Bob Dylan's" Knock Knock Knocking on Heaven's Door" & other Magical Mystery tour songs. This set the tone for a perfect adventure to jump start 2009 with sailing, kayaking, swimming, & chatting up the international guests. Made good friends sang soulful music & ate good food What more could one want????? It was a hard choice shoveling 6' of snow in Vancouver BC or snorkelling around Waiheke Island NZ....think I made the best choice Sign me up for 2010
