Wow, what an absulutley amazing experiance.
I contacted "Bridge to Nowhere Tours" about riding our bikes through the "Mangapurua Valley to the "Bridge to Nowhere" and being picked up via jet boat at the other end of the ride.
Joe the owner said you guys have got to be friggen crazy doing it this time of year. The forcast was not good, snow on the hirizon he reconed.
Told him we wanted to do it anyway.
The night before, Joe rang us to cancel. Not good he said, rain, sleet, cold. Did his best but we were determind to go.
The next morning we met Joe at his holiday park in Raetihi. After introducing our selves, Joe said you guys look hard and stupid enough for this today and besides the weather was on the improve, so we were off.
We started our ride from the holiday park down into the Ruatiti Valley. The ride from the Holiday Park was mostly all down hill and took us one and a half hours to ride our bikes to the start of the Mangapurua Track. At this stage we were still dry.
The actual track section of the ride was very wet a greasy and made for one of the best rides we have done in a long time.
When we got to the Mangapurua trig it started to rain a little, but not heavy and surprisingly it was still quite warm. "We werent sitting around long enough to get cold anyway".
After three and a half hours of riding the track section we finally got to our destination. The river.
Joe was standing there waiting for us with a couple of cold cans of tui and a couple of hot thermoses. He said, your choise. The cans went first.
The trip back out by jet boat topped of an amazing day.
This company definatly have what it takes to up there. Communication, attitude, saftey all taken care of.
Thanks Joe, we "WILL BE BACK"

Did a tour with this company and what a fantastic time we had.
Our guide Ben was absulutley amazing. He has been on the river all his life and the stories and history he has to tell are out of this world. He entertained us to the max.
Stoped at his lodge for the night and his sister Libby, cooked us up an amazing meal.
We will never forget the time we sheared with you guys Ben.
We have been to so many activities in NZ over the times we have been here and your company is right up there amongst the best we have experienced. Value for money was superb. Keep up the good work and hope the baby comes soon Libby.

I have in the past canoed down the river stopping for the night in the conservation huts, making my way down the river. Now a few years older I decided to stop off at the lodge where Joe and the family made you welcome. The meals, showers, accomodation and don't forget about the company where excellent. This making the trip even better than the past.
Thanks Joe

This was a once in a life time experience. The scenery was magnificent. We really felt we had gone back in time. The jet boat trip to the bridge to knowhere was just an awesome experience. Joe was so knowledgable and interesting, and lots of fun.
Then we moved onto the lodge. This is so hard to describe; A homely atmosphere with welcoming people and delicious food.
To sit out on the deck overlooking the beautifull river in such a serene setting will be forever in our memories.
I have travelled all over the world and it would take a lot to beat this experience.

Had a great time staying at the Bridge to Nowhere lodge with friends and family. This is my 2nd time back! The hosts are wonderful! All are friendly and welcoming and are full of information on the area and its background. The lodge itself is amazing! Situated high up looking over the river and bush land its really one of a kind. Throughly enjoyed the boat ride (especially the 360 spin!) and the walk into the bridge itself is spectacular, beautiful scenery. Highly recomended, a real must do!!!

Hey Joe, told you i would not forget to voice my veiw. Well where do i start.
Over the last four weeks we have traveled from North Island down to the South Island and now on our way back to Auckland for our sad return home. Tim and i, as you know have visited New Zealand twice before and spent many weeks/months touring this fantastic country that you call home.
Although we have had some great experiances through out NZ in the times we have been here, in all of our journeys around NZ we have never experianced the hospitality, the time, and the kindness that you were so willing to shear with us. We were just so pleased and amazed that you spent the time to go out of your way and to do a special guided tour just for the two of us alone for the day.
The day was amazing and the stories that you had to shear with us were out standing. You know so much history about the river, the area and the bush and life as once was in the past. You tell the stories as though you were there, and we know you werent, "because you are not that old", but you live it and love it and most of all Joe, you shear it with every one.
We will never forget our time with you at the Bridge to Nowhere and we will certainly recommend you and you company to as many as we can.
As i said to you at the time Joe, the price you charge is rediculously cheap for what you did for us alone.
You are a true ambassator for tourism in New Zealand.
Thank you for a wonderfull time.
