Truly amazing experience paddling on Christmas day 2011 with Skirts our guide who definitely made the trip memorable along with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. We spent 4 weeks in NZ and this was the highlight.

The Sounds are absolutely best views from a kayak, even if it means not seeing the whole thing.

The temperature here is quite cold and it snows with strong winds and heavy rains. These occur at any time of the year. There is rain that averages almost every other day during the hiking season. Although the most amazing thing about these places are the waterfalls. These are in plenty and they cascade over each other lie beautiful silver threads.

Fabulous way to see the Sound. Well organised with thermals and waterproofs to wear. Exciting trip, as unusually quite windy and choppy but even the novices loved it. Kayaking under the waterfalls was the highlight but remember, protection from sandflies is an essential. I was scratching for days! Lowlight- I lost my glasses to the fishes!
