Quite simply an awesome experience, and amazing value. Their tours include a wide range of terrain and challenges including mud, trees, steep shale slopes, river beds and fast open gravel roads. The scenery is as astounding as it is remote, and a free photo CD with over 400 pictures - most of them taken by our two guides that afternoon - was an unexpected and cherished bonus.

Everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional, and as far as I can tell there isn't anything at all they could improve on (and I can be REALLY picky at times :).

Amazing value! We went all over the place, through water, on rocks, in mud, dirt... we even saw and met up with some horses while having lunch. It was a long long ride with beautiful mountain scenery the entire way. I did some research and I think this is the only quad-bike tour in the area that is allowed to operated on the reserve public land, instead of private land. This makes for a much larger expanse to explore and they are very careful to preserve it's natural beauty.

The guides were great and even had a normal group and advanced group for those that wanted a little extra challenge.

Backtrax also takes digital pictures on the ride and gives you a CD a few hours after the tour ends. I had to leave that day and they sent me the CD all the way to the US at no charge. It was damaged in shipping, and Graeme took the time to help me and sent them to me digitally since he had them all backed up even months later. This is one amazing company and the crew is knowledgeable and friendly.

Go see Graeme on the main street Hanmer. I will be going back there when I visit NZ again.

We had a great bike tour, through different kind of terrains (riverbeddings, hills, grass). Our guide was very good in explaining. We also went to wild horses and fed them some apples.
The bikes were oke, and we will never forget this great ride.
