What a great day! Brent was a wonderful guide and we really enjoyed his commentary about the river's history. A cup of fresh ground coffee and Claire's home baked Apricot Loaf on the Bridge to Nowhere was well worth the walk. A big thank you to both Brent and Claire for such an awesome experience.

Dave & I took our two older teenagers yesterday on the Bridge to Nowhere Discovery Tour with Brent. What a great family day out. Brent was the best of guides full of local knowledge and a lot of fun! Made even more special by providing superb local fresh ground coffee and home baking! Such a treat! Great memories. We went home and watched 'River Queen' even though Georgia had already seen it. Thanks Brent...you definitely deserve 10/10

I have to reiterate all the other comments here. The excursion included everything I was looking for - beautiful river scenery, bushwalking, river jet travel with an excellent and informative guide (Brent) telling us many local iwi stories and of the local history with thoughtful touches like the morning tea and lunch time tablecloth and juice. Would highly recommend the experience, even if you are travelling solo like me!

What a great experience! We did the 6 hour Bridge to Nowhere tour and it was the highlight of our recent trip. Brent was a wonderful and informative guide and his stories about the region transported us back in time. The morning tea (delicious home baked apricot loaf washed down with freshly brewed tea and coffee) on the Bridge was delicious and it was great to stand around, chat and take it all in. We were then taken further up the river where we stopped for lunch. Brent poured out some chilled orange juice for everyone and the tablecloth added a really lovely touch. We had a great day on the River and learned so much about the area, its history and its people and the whole experience was made very special by such a wonderful host. It was food for the soul and created memories that will stay with us for ever.

I was orgaising a family birthday event for family and friends in the area. We had 24 people including children.Brent organised 2 boats to take all of us up river to the flying fox. The interesting trip with history included and places of interest bought the river alive. The boat trip and scenery spectacular. The stop at the flying fox, the muffins cofee and hospitality superb. The trip and experience exceded expectation and was enjoyed by all who took part. Thankyou for a wonderfull experience.

We had 6 hour tour of the Wanganui River with Brent. Everything was superb - great boat, very nice morning tea. Brent knows a lot about the river and gives you the most interesting parts and answers all questions. Very good boat captain. Jet boating the river is the ultimate way to travel. Pizza at Volcano's was perfect, thanks.

I was part of the organising committee for an Australian Athletics Tour of the Lower North Island of NZ in January 2012. Our trip was extremely limited in time, therefore it was important to find a venue/facility that could show us traditional Maroi culture and experiences. I can not rate Spirit of the River Jet high enough. Claire, Brent, Ned and the extended family showed us such tremendous hospitality we did not want to leave. The traditional Powhiri "welcoming" was heartfelt, The Hangi - amazing, Traditional Maori concert - simply unforgettable. Waka tour with Ned - very entertaining and great for the team bonding. We stayed overnight in the communal sleeping house and this experience was just what our team wanted to experinece. (Shower and toilet facilities were very clean) If you are looking for a place to stay on the beautiful Whanganui River with an emphasis on "culture experience" Spirit of The River Jet is the place to be. They go absolutely over and beyond, fresh home baking, hands on experience preparing the hangi, participation in the Haka and concert. Their even up for a friendly game of volleyball. Thank you so much Claire, Brent and Ned you have made our trip one we will never forget.

Thankyou so much for making this the highlight of my trip to New Zealand, the whole atmosphere of this place was homely. The group that i was with wanted to stay there for the remainder of our trip becuase we loved the place and the friendly people that much. I recommend this to anyone, the people are so friendly, the place is very well kept and historical and the food was absolutely phenomenal! Banana cake with chocolate icing made me crave it ever since i came back to Australia! And the Hangi was such a great cultural experience. I felt so welcomed and the game of volleyball we had topped off the night! Never will we experience such amazing culture and people again so i thank you for that.
