We were told about the little blue penguins that come ashore an hour after dusk, on the waterfront to the north of Te Papa. A treat for us staying overnight in our camper at the Wellington Wharf.

My wife and I hired a two sleeper from NZ Frontiers for 23 nights, from late March into April. I must say that we have never experienced customer service, anywhere in the world, like we did from Kenrick Mitchell. From the time we first made the enquiry in October 2011, his responses were prompt, helpful, insightful and often with a little humour in them. On arrival in Auckland he was at the airport to meet us and took his time in giving us a thorough briefing on the workings of the van and the road rules in New Zealand. Everything promised on the website was in the van, which was spotless. Despite having high mileage, the van ran faultlessly and we achieved close on 10km to the litre over the 5500km we did. Our discounted Interislander Ferry bookings done through Kenrick went without a hitch. We did experience a problem with the skylight and table locking mechanisms about two weeks into the trip, as well as the TV aerial, but it did not spoil our trip in any way. We have hired two sleeper motorhomes in Europe a number of times, from DRM, and like the extended chassis with the permanent bed, the huge amount of storage space, the permanent eating nook and swivelling front seats, as well as their sliding blinds (rather than curtains) on the windows and particularly the windscreen, which together with the swivelling front seats give an extended and practical living area at night. This style does not appear to be favoured in New Zealand and if you are used to it, you may be a little dissapointed by the limited storage and living space of the two sleeper. We highly recommend New Zealand and doing it by campervan and you will not find a better and more personal service than New Zealand Frontiers.

Just returned from a month long tour of the South Island in a camper van rented from New Zealand Frontiers and wanted to once again sing the praise of Kenrick Mitchells business. This was the second time we rented fro Kenrick and everything went as smoothly as before. When you rent from New Zealand Frontiers you will get the most personal service possible. If you take the time to really compare
charges between rental agents you'll find that New Zealand Frontiers includes many extras in the quote that others may not. You can rent cheaper vans but they are older and more worn out and may come with problems that could ruin your trip. I think you will be very pleased with the service and how clean and maintained your camper van is when you pick it up at your selected place of delivery. We were repeat costumers, enough said.

My husband and I rented a camper van from New Zealand Frontiers in March 2012. We highly recommend this company. The customer service was top notch. I reserved the van in October 2011 for our trip. It was very easy to communicate with the company via e-mail before our trip. Once there Mr. Mitchell delivered our camper van to our hotel. He gave us a very thorough explanation of how to operate the van and driving laws in New Zealand. He also gave us great recommendations on where to go and how much distance we could probably cover in a day.
The camper van was very comfortable and well equipped. It was also easy to drive. We had a great vacation and were able to stay in many wonderful places.
We highly recommend New Zealand Frontiers. The customer service we received was outstanding. The van was great. We are planning to return to New Zealand next year and we are definitely considering renting from this company again.

The van rental was 1st rate. I hadn't driven anything larger than a car for the past 5 years, but the unit handled just like one, even on mountain roads.Everything was included-no suprises. The Kruze self guided audio tour that comes with rental was a bonus giving us ideas on what to expect when rolliing into a town or region-also history and wildlife info. All in all the rental made a great experience. You won't be dissapionted

Absolutely loved the campervan. It handled extremely well, had lots of storage space, and the bed was very comfortable. The van came fully stocked with everything we needed, and we managed to store plenty of stuff in all of the various cabinets. We brought way too much clothing with us, so I'd recommend not overpacking. even so, we had soft luggage, so we just stored it under the benches and only accessed it when we needed it. We had never been in a campervan before, so this was a great first experience. Once you get used to dealing with dumping the waste, filling the water, etc. it makes for a great home. We were able to travel to areas that don't have a lot of accomodation for tourists and still enjoy the area. Kenrick was great to work with, did a very thorough explanation of the van and lent us a book on hiking. The GPS storytelling device (can't remember the name) was actually really interesting and useful, and we missed having it on a later part of the trip when we rented a car.
We would definitely rent with NZ Frontiers again. We felt very secure working with Kenrick and had no worries if something did happen (fortunately nothing went wrong).

Kenrick, the owner, could not have been more helpful. The initial orientation was very thorough. The van was immaculate, including kitchen equipment and was very well equipped, with unexpected extras such as DVDs, maps and guides.
The van performed well particularly when going up the steep passes of the South Island.
We were virgin 'campervaners' but soon adjusted as everything was to hand and the necessary limited storage spaces were well planned.
The delivery and collection of the van from our hotels made life much easier.
Thoroughly recommended!

My first time in a campervan so I can't compare the various types but our Transit based van did the job. What I can say is that service is important or the need to feel that if required service response is appropriate. So no problems with NZ Frontiers campervans run by Kendrick with the personal touch. All the enquiry/booking bits went well with quick responses and good advice. Meet and greet good including fresh orange juice from tree in his own garden. Would have no doubts about booking again.

We have just returned from our 6 week trip to New Zealand.
From the point of view of our rental, it ran flawlessly from start to finish. Kenrick Mitchell the owner, is efficient, courteous and nothing is too much trouble. He runs a very clean fleet of Motorhomes and is always available should anything arise. We can highly recommend this company.

This was a very high quality experience for my wife and I. The vehicle was spotless and well appointed when we received it, it performed very well and the special add ons of GPS navigator and touring comments for the area we were travelling through added to our enjoyment. The commercial dealings were also friendly and fair. New Zealand Frontiers have our highest recommendation. Thanks
