Great people, great experiences! What else can you ask for?
Worked for The Sea Kayak Company for one season and had an awesome time! This family owned company became my NZ seakayaking family! All I can say is, "Go for it! They sure will show you a good time in the Abel Tasman!"

Half day kayaking and half day walk. Good scenery and nice encounters with the seals. A bit touristic with loads of people on the water. We are also being spoiled since Fiordland.

These people are extraordinarily good. I booked for eight of us (all demanding Aucklanders!) for a pick up from Nelson/drop off at the start of the Abel Tasman track; pack transfers daily; full day kayaking with a guide; and drop off at Nelson airport.. Everything was absolutely perfect - Rohan was brilliant at helping me organise everything; Mary, our kayak guide, was a superb blend of fun and knowledge; and the owner of the company was there to greet us on arrival and to say goodbye and ask 'how-was-everything' on departure. Price? I checked with three or four other companies and The Sea Kayak Company were either comparable or slightly less - but even if you pay a little more for this company, it is well worth it. Can't fault them.

Freedom hire for 3 days: Had a fabulous time. Great organisation. Advice from Maureen and briefing from Kyle was superior to those received by other kayakers we met in the park using other operators.

I did the guided rental combo and camped over night. It was well organised and the guide was very good. The views were amazing, although there were many other kayakers there, which spoiled the secluded atmosphere.

Spending a week in Nelson we deceided one day to have a go kayaking. Based on this website comments on Maureen's and Pete's business we chose the sea kayaking company to be our first experience of the Able Tasman national park. We could not have been more happy, Maureen's fantastic food sustained our voyage to split apple rock and our wonderful guide, Sally, skillfully guided us (a family of four with two small children) around the rock and back to the beach. The Kayaks were adequately equipped with Pete doing a fantastic job ensuring our saftey and comfort. We totally recommend this experience to anyone, it's not too taxing physically and the payoff is a memory that will last a lifetime.

What a fantastic experience of the able tasman - Our guide was very informative and was great - the food was great and the whole down to earthness of maureen and pete (the owners) made it a real kiwi experience- would do it again in a heartbeat.

5 fantastic days mostly sunny with a little rain and surf for contrast. A very well organised set up, food plentiful, double kayaks were great and I would not use a single again for en expedition. The highlight however was our guide Kyle who helped our family of 4 gel with 4 independent travelers to give everyone a great trip. His knowledge of the local fauna and flora and Maori culture combined with professional level story telling to give me the most memorable guided experience I have ever had.
Thanks for a most memorable experience
