Do lots of research before you come. Take advice from those who know. Be prepared to ask questions and ask for help. N. Zealanders are very helpful and friendly. Need lots of bugspray. Sandflies are evil, especially when chilling out on beaches on the West Coast such as Gillespies Beach

This is defenitly one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand - its quite remote but the trip is worth it! Danny and Lyn at French Pass Sea Safaris wellcomed me so friendly they both have a lot of knowledge about the wildlife in the area(shags, dolphins, seals, gannets, shearwaters, whales, and much more!) and the trip through French Pass is defenitly an unforgettable thing to do! Thx you so much for sharing this beautiful place!

Fantastic trip. Danny was a mine of knowledge about the marine life and the area. Learnt a lot about the impact of mussell farming in the region that I was never aware of! Boat trip through the French Pass at full ebb tide was just amazing. Well worth the drive to get there. A once in a life time experience
