Whole country is very informal; shorts, tees and sandals acceptable most everywhere except Wellington, where black corporate outfits are standard issue.

Oustanding tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. Even the wife who is not a fan enjoyed the tour. The kids had a great time dressing up as the various characters from the scenes. Highly recommend!

LORD OF THE RINGS TOUR TWIZEL

If you are into Lord of the Rings then this tour is an absolute MUST!
There is nothing quite like the beautiful vistas of Twizel and the MacKenzie District.
We have been on this tour twice now and would go again!
You get the opportunity to have fun and dress up as the Nazgul Witch King and play out Eowyn stabbing the Witch King.
Make sure if Vernon is your tour guide that he goes into Smeagol/Gollum mode - Andy Serkis look out you have competition!
Find out all the ins and outs of how the lines of horses galloped across the plains of Gondor (Twizel)...
So much to hear about - bring a sense of adventure and definitely a camera!

I did the Lord of The Rings Tour with these guys. Two hour tour for $70 for just me and my girlfriend. We saw where the huge battle scene in the final film was made, charged down the hill like the Riders of Rohan, dressed up like Gondorians and ringwraiths for some snazzy photos, and were shown how they pulled off all the movie tricks to make it all possible. Turns out that 90% of what you see is real footage. I couldn't recommend this tour enough. My girlfriend hates LoftheR and she loved it too.
