I went here to see the Tuatara, NZ's little dragon.
Very impressive display and how they are helping these things survive. The maori people believe they can communicate with the gods! Worth a visit

We didn't know anything about it before deciding to visit, we were not so sure when there was no car park for it and the signs limited. We were pleasantly surprised, the zoo was very well kept with a large variety of animals to see including Kiwis. Worth a visit.

I really enjoyed the zoo. I appreciated the natural setting of all the enclosures for the animals and the good mix of native and non-native animals was appreciated.

Small, but we went on a '$5 Wednesday' August special. Wouldn't pay much more for it.

A wonderful zoo, especially for one in a good-sized city. They have a great variety of animals, beautiful large enclosures, and great vantage points over the city. The cheeky "don't feed the animals" signs were also a plus. And, of course, there are kiwi birds! A must-see for non-New Zealanders.
