Ralphie Kirby-Crowe

Written by the crew

The Ralphenator is the youngest, smallest and smartest person in our crew, which is a bit of an affliction for her. She couldn’t just cruise along like the rest of us, she demanded the auspicious role of running the office and crew (which she claims to hate but secretly loves).

Like all high-flying, power hungry corporate types, she is grossly imbalanced, and combats this through strenuous yoga, pilates and getting smashed on tequila.

Experience:

  • Seasonal work: the good, bad and the random
  • Pizza Hut in Queenstown – age 16, thought it was the best thing ever
  • Uni – 3 years. I did learn lots, not all of it was strictly academic
  • A very long winter – Taught skiing for 3 or so years in Queenstown and Colorado
  • Wellington City Council - I had the privilege of helping register all 8000 dogs in Wellington in 2005
  • Teaching English in Thailand - 2006
  • Kaiteriteri Kayaks – 2 years, I didn’t do so much kayaking but learned some good lingo

Why Rankers:

I can believe in Rankers - I’m stoked to be part of something fresh in an industry I have been around for most of my life. I’m keen to help develop a culture around Rankers, so it can become a platform for more good stuff (tourism and otherwise) to happen in and around NZ.

And, as mushy as it sounds, I do quite like the people I work with (most of the time).

Message to the world:

Treat people (and yourself) with the respect they deserve, trust your instincts, remember when the chips go down it will get better again, and love the little things.

Nothing is forever, so get amongst the good stuff when you can, and eat, drink and be merry!
