My family and I actually live on the Kapiti Coast (or mainland!) literally across the water from Kapiti Island. So it was an incredible (triple birthday) two days/one night visit with all the good things that other reviewers for this site have written, and more besides. In summary, if you can make it to this magical Island, then this is an experience that will bless and enrich the lives of any New Zealander (or visitor to NZ) who is interested in the history of their land, their people, their culture, their place and identity. Before you go, do your homework on NZ flora and fauna (principally birdlife), do some extensive beach/hill walks to get fit, and charge up your camera batteries, so that when you come you can experience the moment. Live and love well for life is precious.

We spent three weeks traveling around Australia and New Zealand with our two sons aged 7 and 5. We were lucky enough to experience many activities during our holiday including a helicopter safari, but without exception this was by far the best day that we had. The whole day from start to finish was fantastic. 5 hours flew by and the children never had a second to be bored. Haley was our raft guide and Mark our driver. Both were great fun and went out of their way to make our day special from the moment we stepped into the bus. The trip to the start point along the thrilling gorge road was full of fun filled facts from Haley who whose warmth and enthusiasm was infectious. The rafting along Grade I/ II rapids was perfect for families and a real family bonding trip. There were so many surprises to the trip and I could write pages about how wonderful the day was but I strongly recommend that, if you have young children and you are looking for an experience to remember, you should try Family Adventures for yourself. You won't regret it.

Best day we had in NZ. Just the 2 of us (Karen and I - both mid 50's), had never rock climbed or abseiled before but Paul made it easy. Still raving about Green Glow and the brilliant 7 hours we spent with Paul so don't look any further - this is AAA+++ value and a truly memorable and exhilarating experience!!

Wow, what a fantastic day. A week later all 15 of us are still on a buzz Norm,L.C (LOOSE CANNON) John and Bill were great guides. They had us surfing 'the tongue' of rapids, cliff jumping (my butt has had the deepest tissue massage of its life when I jumped through the bush over a 12 metre bank) canyoning and lunching on a scencic and fresh clean river. We were out all day. We are definately going back. Safe yet exhilarating. This needs to go on your bucket list.

I spent a glorious day with Phil Parker and a couple from Sweden enjoying the wines of New Zealand. The five vineyards were a wonderful mix of old and new establishments, large and small. The tasting flights were fabulous and the vineyard hosts welcoming. At each stop, we were invited to taste white, then rose, then reds, then dessert wines. More than one place had sparklings. Phil also showed us the nesting gannets, a bee farm and a kiwi farm. He is knowledgeable, gracious, flexible and funny. Not only did he introduce us to the wines of New Zealand, he also made valuable recommendations for shopping and restaurants in Auckland. And he picked a great winery for lunch with good food elegantly presented. I highly recommend this tour and Phil Parker.

This was a brilliant personalised tour. We learnt a lot about Maori protocols and then applied them in a visit to our guide's home for morning tea. We learnt a lot about uses of native plants, got to try some native tea, learn some flax weaving, and learn a song to sing to the great trees of the forest. This tour is a must do in Kaikoura and a great way to be welcomed to the area.

This tour was the highlight of our weekend in the Hawke's Bay. It was excellent value for money and a really fun day, our tour left 4.30pm and we got back at 9.00pm. The tractors are a unique way to travel out to the Cape and enabled us to get great views of the cliffs and coastline. The guys driving the tractor have a good sense of humor and provide interesting information along the way. The walk at the end to the Gannets was well worth it, it was amazing to see these beautiful birds and their chicks. I would highly recommend you do this trip if you are visiting the Hawke's Bay.

I'm a sport jumper and have jumped at several drop zones in Canada, the United States, and New Zealand. Skydive Abel Tasman is a gorgeous drop zone, with great facilities and top-notch staff.
The staff at Skydive Abel Tasman are obviously passionate about skydiving and about sharing the experience and love of the sport, not just about taking your money (which I unfortunately can not say about every drop zone out there). They are large enough to accommodate customer demands and maintain great facilities, but small enough to still be very friendly and personable - a balance that is difficult for any drop zone to achieve!
Sure, you can go to any drop zone to do a tandem skydive and you will have fun, but I would definitely recommend Skydive Abel Tasman for a unique personal experience that goes beyond your average tandem jump.
Thanks, guys, for going out of your way to get me up in the sky again! I hope to return and jump with you again soon!
Blue Skies!
(Whether you plan it as a one-time experience or want to do it again and again, get the video!!! I've seen a lot of jumpers decide against it, and far too many of them regretted their decision once they had done their jump, but I have NEVER heard someone say "I wish I hadn't bought the DVD..." It's a little bit of extra money to make your first skydive experience last a lifetime!)

Excellent service from Mitre Peak. We booked in the morning and sailed on the 1630 departure. Late afternoon sunshine, no coach loads of people to contend with (they all go on the lunchtime sailings on the much bigger boats) what more could you ask. Chuck in some amazing scenery, a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins with very young calves, informative yet unobtrusive commentary and job done.
